Hope you die before you get old, eh? Statistically, it's likely that my best and worst days are behind me, simply because there are probably more days in my past than in my future. I'm okay with that. Doesn't stop me from doing things to make the coming days better, though.
The old days huh. I remember when the cost of living went up 50% in one day. Draft beer went from 10 cents to fifteen cents a glass.
I've noticed here (although I've never posted) that certain folks seems to curry favor with forum leaders here. Is this true? I wanted to comment on the value of silver coins but I am told that that is a dangerous move if you offend someone. I was additionally warned that you get booted for expressing your opinions and I'm wondering, what is the purpose of all this?
I remember my first year in college there was a bar within stumb... walking distance from my dorm where draft beer was $0.16/mug.
Well, a good friend of mine got booted recently and it prompted me to ask why. I really didn't see anything wrong with his post but apparently someone did. What's bothersome to me is that other offenders who did much less in my mind were allowed to remain. I wouldn't describe my friend as repugnant at all. I've never posted and likely never will after this. I did feel the need to ask for his sake and so I have. Why the obvious bias?
I missed the original thing that you claimed was repeated but alright, I'll ask again. Why such bias? Does it have to do with financing of the forum? Seemed rather obvious that there is great bias.
Perhaps I misspoke. You were claiming bias for some reason and I replied that you had to be pretty repugnant to get booted, implying that I see no bias. When you seemed to challenge that I replied that I saw no bias, perhaps misusing the phrase "I will repeat..." Do you collect coins or just like to argue. Quote or reference the thread that got your friend booted.
I do collect to answer your first question but have never posted although I frequent the forum. The thread is locked now but it was in the bullion section. Actually is irritated the Hell out of me when I saw what happened, prompting this response. I am just wondering what criteria is used for member recruitment here. I once considered joining but obviously not any more. To me, the more offensive member was allowed to continue and my buddy booted. I suppose I'll be booted too but perhaps I'll get an answer first. Again, what is the bias based on? Why is one person allowed to circumvent the apparent rules versus another who in my mind, did nothing to warrant such actions. Once more, what bias is in use here? Is it a support for the forum in the financial sense the reason or reasons?
I honestly don't know what you are talking about. How were you "recruited"? You apparently joined or wouldn't be on here.
If you're asking why I am responding here it's because my good friend got booted here. I thought that was rather obvious. I suppose I should be more direct but I am trying to walk carefully as it seems to me this place just punts people at random that they don't like. I have no quarrel with you mind you. I just thought it was a safer venture than addressing the offender directly as it seems they have some preferential power.
It was a bullion related thread that claimed politics were invoked. One certainly mentioned "the left" and seemed to be the bully if you like. One did not and he got punted. So before I too get punted, what is the bias that is used here?
Why would you be fearful of being booted? Try posting some really neat looking coins or some good bullion buys. I think people here are actually pretty nice.
This time I can honestly say, I see no bias here. Perhaps read the rules and guidelines. Bullying people can get you booted, if you think this is what happened to your friend, contact @GDJMSP or @Peter T Davis by personal message and complain. I don't want to respond any more since this has nothing to do about coins.
I sort of thought so too before this occurrence went down the way it did. I now question the validity of that though. I would just like to know why seemingly preferential treatment is used and what it is based on. Why is at least one member allowed to bully another then the bullied person gets booted. Seems rather unjust to me (and my bud) that this is the way it is. What is the criteria? If I were to donate a large sum of money here, would I too be allowed to flaunt the rules and bully another?
They give you a Warning ROB I know I got a few from GDJMSP about Politics and language or both or name calling.. but never got with held from service jus yet. These friends are super smart on coins just like you said you visit frequently and I to just to read or reread old threads on certain subjects...…. Sometime the answer you want is not what you get.
I received no such warning and I noticed in the same thread the term "crazy leftist" was used and THAT member is still here while another is banned, having said nothing political. Selective enforcement is in play and makes it difficult to maneuver. Both parties to political discussion (especially when one is abusive) should be banned. Fair's fair. Rather disgusting the "politics" that are played here.
