Came across this and hoping to get more experienced members opinions. 1873? 1874? Neither? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1873-CC-or-1874-CC-Seated-Liberty-Half-Dollar-with-Arrows/352776048343?hash=item5223174ed7:g:lgEAAOSwgbdcQoro
I would refrain from buying that coin. It looks cull, and there's no point in paying $142 for a coin with an indiscernible year. It could also be an 1850s Seated Half judging by the third numeral.
In that condition it's not worth the current price. It's a cull coin with no date. I doubt it would grade P-01.
That guy has been peddling trash coins for a loooong long time on eBay. And people buy them all the time! I'm always flabbergasted.
Carson City did not start coin production until 1870. I agree that this is a cull coin. Cool CC mint mark but not worth $142
It has arrows, a motto on the reverse, and a CC mintmark. It HAS to be either 1873 or 1874. I see 1873. I will buy all you have for melt. Can we stop with these unrealistic valuations? I have seen and avoided his wares. I really hate how the hole, massive rim dent, etc is always cropped out of the first picture. He buys some of my culls from me. For what I believe to be strong prices. I don’t know how he makes money. But I guess he does.
