Why does this 1973 coin look so much newer then older coins? Does that mean it was circulated less than others? It looks more golden then cooper
There are numerous reasons why. Maybe it was part of a set that someone finally let loose. It could of been in a jar for decades until someone decided to let those coins free also. Maybe there was a house built in 1973 and the Cent found itself wedged in a space or under the floorboards.. Someone doing recent renovation finally found it hidden.
you can correlate coins to pretty much anything else that you use. Why do some cars look so much nicer and better kept than newer cars? Why does some silverware look so much nicer and better kept than other scratched up, bent silverware. Why does some people's jewelry get all scratched up, while other people's jewelry doesn't? Ever find coins in a couch? car trunk? drawer? etc .. that is time that it did not spend in circulation and wear & tear.

If i dig up all my floorboards this weekend and find nothing. I'm going to write you a real nasty letter
Just make sure Paddy has had his coffee before he responds to you all. A shiny cent? Any number of reasons but I'm going with it was in a collection until recently:
