Teaching my first college summer Chemistry class I had a number of students from a local high school who were taking it since they could then get credit for the high school class without taking it and get college credit. One of the students raised their hand and asked that if the majority of students in the class voted for it, could they have "take home" tests...my answer ran along the lines of "You wouldn't want to take a 'take home' test I could make up, and you seem to be suffering from the idea that this class is a democracy. It isn't."

You don't understand that management can, and did remove all reference/communication between parties in an action that may result in liabilities. I believe that all references/communications to "Planman" were "lost" (see: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/if...off-another-member.341442/page-2#post-3584165), and probably would only be found through a subpoena court action.

The damage was $825 for an item that can be proven to never have existed, and when confronted with facts, promised a yet undelivered refund, 2+ years later.

This is just one of several misrepresentation incidents, a lesser degree than another committed by a believed "very prominent" site individual.

These incidents were in part, motivation/justification for the Minnesota "bullion law", which has stopped some very powerful Numismatic sales firms from their illegal actions in that state, while continuing in others.

The average "post generator" on these sites hasn't any idea of the complexity required to realize justice/recompense for an unlawful action.

I hear you. The justice system is for those who can afford to participate in it.

Of course, one also must also realize that the internet and internet forums are susceptible to people of potential shady dealings to come back for more whether it's PMs, coins or gemstones. For instance, in general internet sleuthing one can possibly come to the conclusion that Planman was here before, possibly as an alias similar to "redllama" and he may be here again under a different alias.

At issue is everyone not wanting to be safeguarded just to save a buck or two to score a deal. Don't use free services (like paypal friends and family, zelle, etc) and pay a little more for some safeguarding, and always react within 30 days or sooner as that is a limit some CreditCards impose on fraud items. Of course, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is .. especially on a website like this where everyone is trying to get PMs for as low as possible.

I think you meant "you do understand" because yes, I in fact do understand what management can and will do. I just saw so many people responding resolutely that I figured the information was out there. Thank you for the link. :) Also, seems like you've twice made assumptions about the knowledge of others, you should not be so hasty in such assumptions. Have a great day :)

I apologize if you take exception to my believed succinct explanation as to why I couldn't complete your demand, thus: Seattlite86 said:
"I’m new to this. Link to the original Thread showing details of being ripped off?"

You didn't understand my complete statement, and I didn't know of which portion you lacked understanding, so I supplied a believed thorough explanation!

Regardless, you lacked understanding/knowledge to realize that the information you requested probably couldn't be delivered without a court order. You could have taken exception to a portion of whatever was said.

I believe an objective jurist would determine that you lacked understanding of my complete response to your demand. You stated being a newbie!

I trust this explanation may suffice, but after reading/understanding your preference of wording, there probably aren't any acceptable words.

New to this thread, not newbie. A simple look at my information would’ve told you that much. When I opened the thread, I saw this:

Naturally, I assumed that there was another thread that had a backstory, as it seemed that this was a follow-up to some other thread and I thought someone was rallying everyone. I choose to be informed before outraged and asked for more information.

All you needed to say was “some of the comments in this thread have already been removed”. That would’ve sufficed for an explanation. There is no such thing as an objective jurist (feel free to read up on Foucault/social constructivism), and while I’ll take the higher ground and leave out the ad hominem, rest assured I found nothing humble in your opinion. Have a great day.

I again apologize for improperly responding as a minion to your demand/charade, after you've stated: "I’m new to this." Whatever THIS is? I humbly responded to your/the authoritative directive/demand, politely referring to a believed defined "newbie", rather than maybe/possibly a "noob". I try not to take the/a "simple look" that you suggested.

Regardless, as I've stated, assured by your current response, "there probably aren't any acceptable words."

As one who criticizes my statements that I'd gladly support/defend before a learned jurist, I believe my associates might take exception to your STATEMENT: "There is no such thing as an objective jurist". I'd pass on defending that statement.

I defer to your authoritative statements, humbly recognizing one more learned then I, having such greater presentative skills.

Thank You for informing me of possible deficiencies, and graciously hope you also "Have A GREAT DAY"

Although I may lack your desired skills, and you may consider me a edited, I'm still RICH

TO THE MODERATOR WHO EDITED "OUT" A PROPER SUBSTITUTE FOR MY GIVEN NAME Richard, I DON'T BELIEVE IT WAS NECESSARY TO EDIT A NAME WHICH MY FRIEND/PAST-WIFE, AND MANY OTHERS FROM MY PAST STILL CALL ME D--K, TO WHICH I STILL ANSWER WITH A SMILE. AS "POWER OF ATTORNEY AND ENGINEERING" REPRESENTATIVE OF SEVERAL FIRMS IN THE PAST, NORMALLY PEOPLE WOULD ASK "WHAT NAME DO YOU PREFER?". RESPONDED WITH "MY FRIENDS CALL ME RICHARD, BUT MY WIFE CALLS ME D--K. I TRUST i'LL LEAVE HERE AS A FRIEND.", WHICH PRODUCED/OPENED MANY SMILES/COMMUNICATIONS.

THE EDIT WASN'T NECESSARY! YOU MIGHT REFRESH YOUR THOUGHTS!

I HOPE THAT MANY "DEMERITS" WEREN'T RECEIVED FOR USING MY "COMMON", BUT NOT LEGAL "NAME".

As my father was a Richard, he never went by Rich or Richard, but almost always by Dick. It is a valid name, and as common as calling a David, Dave or a Sandra, Sandy. In fact, he ran for a group's office as Dick, not Richard. It is a friendly name.

Hopefully the mods will realize this is all so 1950s safe. But they may not. They edited out a picture I used of Tard (short for Tardar Sauce, and known as "Tard" without any reference to insulting anyone), evidently because they were under the misconception that I was somehow calling someone a name. Tard (the cat, it's "moniker") is (was, it's no longer alive) also known as "Grumpy Cat".

For any mod seeing this, if I have any points for that supposed insult, please take them off. Thank you.

Here's the whole thing with me...... We have a thread about a less than upstanding member that has taken advantage of the good nature and goodwill of another member....... Now this thing has grown to a point now that we have other first class members now at odds with each other. Granted, I have strong feelings about one person taking another person's hard earned monies. However at this point I would like to see all step back away from this thing before it gets out of control and good people get dinged or worse yet, the hammer.

Agree that it was a fairly common nickname for people named Richard that were born up through the 50's. Here is an NFL quarterback from the 60's and early 70's (He was the starter for the 1968 Pittsburgh Steelers)
