No... just environmental damage, probably lost in a flower bed for a while or similar.

The give away is the dark color and that it's both sides...

 

nothing I see makes me think missing clad

 

thank you both! I appreciate your input! Thought it might be unclad because of the side view, the evenness of the color and it seems lighter in weight the other quarters. But I'm a newbie, so I'm still learning!

Your coin would look like one of these if the clad layer was missing. Keep up the search.

Yes. Usually the missing clad layer is on one side of the coin and typically it weighs 1 gram less than a normal clad quarter which weighs 5.67 grams.
