Those of you who are in Europe, or sometimes travel there, may be interested in a new museum that just opened in Frankfurt (Hesse, Germany): the "Goldkammer". This Gold Chamber is a little more than the term may suggest: It displays about 500 exhibits on almost 500 m² - gold sculptures from the Bronze Age, ancient jewelry and religious objects from all over the world. But the museum also shows the Rothschild or Industry Collection of Gold Bars, with about 300 bars. Here is a CoinsWeekly article (English) about the place, with some nice photos. And this is the museum website (German). For individual visitors the museum is open daily (except Mon) 11-17 h. Christian
Planning a trip to Munich next year, how far is the gold museum from there Would for sure like to include that in my trip
Munich - Frankfurt is about 400 km. Roughly four hours one way if you take the car, or 3:15 if you take the train. Both cities have major airports too ... Christian
