Going to invest in my next 1 oz Queens Beast soon, but am just floored by The premiums, not on the current issues but on the 16,17 and 18 ones For instance bought my Red Dragon at $22 over spot when it first came out right around $1,260 now the coin has exploded to over $1,800 and More on several sites or there out of stock, but that,s just supply and Demand so if they dont have it price really doesnt matter...LOL, the 2017 Lion is over $2,000 on the bay, hard to get that premium back !!
Wow! It would be time to sell for me! The UK definitely has plenty of followers, no doubt about that. Their website is absolute crazy money for their gold sovereigns! The Sherlock Holmes gold should be a good one but I don't have that kind of money I only stack instead using a bank savings account. I was thinking about getting a few silver Sherlock Holmes but I decided not. Too little and too late for me. https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins...++mint&utm_content=Brand+|+Royal+Mint+(Broad)
The Beast Coins are fabulous. I wish I had them all in gold and silver (I only have 1 in silver). I have noticed a trend with series. Once the series ends the premiums tend to linger for a little while and then drop down because the collecting mania has vaporized or people have moved on to the next thing. This seems endemic to the collector's mind, which sometimes make people pay more than they should for something. I of course don't know if this pattern will repeat with the Beast series, but I have seen it happen over and over again. Luckily, if that does happen, your coin will always be worth at least gold spot.
i have actually noticed just the reverse, new issue coins in this series are just Over spot, between $22 to $45, but the older issues such as the lion in 2017 Are demanding huge premiums almost double the bullion price !!
Heres what i am talking about https://www.apmex.com/product/96671/2016-great-britain-1-oz-gold-queens-beasts-the-lion
I’m thinking about buying the 1/4 oz versions of them. The premiums seem to be “reasonably” in line with the popularity of the coin. Theyre all available on APMEX as well. I’m getting a little bored with the AGE’s and want to collect other fractional that has a chance to do more than sell for melt. These are beautiful designs IMO....as long as you don’t flip it over
Unlimited Mintage These are still being sold at the mint website even in lots of 500+ I have them all. Lion,Dragon,Falcon,Unicorn,Bull, etc Definitely not worth the premiiums on the Lion and Dragon
Yes, That,s true however this is a bullion coin not something that has A set limited production, as long as you can get it close to spot your Good but not really sure why especially the Lion and Dragon have Gone way up the market line saw the lion advertised in a couple Places for over $2,000 know thats just nuts !!
@mpcusa Do you have an updated release schedule for these? I noticed they switched the Unicorn release with the Greyhound I believe? Just wondering if you knew why or what the future plans are. Thanks
I havent heard anything of late, still trying to find a good deal on the Lion, prices are very infated though
Yeah they are! That’s why I’m doing the 1/4 oz ones...can actually put a set together for a reasonable amount.
Just picked up a 10 oz Unicorn off eBay for a sweet price! Unfortunately I’ll have to get them all now. Haha!
