is junk silver often weighed coin by coin or in bulk?

I've been fortunate enough to travel in the lower 48 states with the exception of 6 of them. I've been to coin shops almost everywhere and I can't recall a single shop selling them by weight. They are sold by face value, regardless of the amount of wear. At the present most shops in my area are 10-12 times face except for Morgans and Peace Dollars.

I like the Walker design more than the others, plus they are less likely to be confused for other silver contents

I love the Walkers and the Franklins. Two completely different designs but both beautiful coins. Just so you know, the Walkers, Franklins and the 1964 Kennedys all have the same silver content, .36169 ounces of pure silver.

I realize that, but not all of the public does. most realize the other two are 90 percent silver

Well let's educate them. Walkers, Franklin's and the 1964 Kennedy's are all 90% silver. The Composition of the Kennedy's were changed the following year to 40% silver. In 1970 the only way to get a Kennedy Half was from the Mint set and it was the last of silver in them except for special issues.

BTW there have been discussions here that concluded a coin had to be about smooth to have a detectable weight loss

That company is not on the up and up. If you buy any coins from them they automatically enroll you to receive coins every month. Not to mention the coins are not graded. They place more emphasis like 90% Silver to entice someone to buy them. Better off buying elsewhere.

What company are you talking about? MANY companies sell 90% silver by number of coins/face value, and most don't grade them.

The OP posted a link to pcscoins.com. I believe that is what @Charles Reese is referring to.

Asking $15.49 for a silver half removes them from consideration no matter what else
