    THIS^^^^^^
It's a type of Feel Good Measurement :D
After awhile the cheap high goes away and it take double digit gains to reset the smiley face.

I can appreciate that. I'm actually in that same boat. I've begun to accumulate for the grandkid. My clock hasn't reset, but it has recharged a bit. I try to take advantage of the troughs when possible.

I am certainly not in a position to spend 10,s of thousands of dollars
On Platinum however week to week it does add up, so over a period
Of time it does add up :)

I want to, but the premiums are a bit steep. I guess that's how you know there is still a lot of confidence in it.

Yes the premiums are a bit higher Platinum 1/10 @ 176
Gold @ 143 , so about a 30 dollar difference, but my opinion
Is that there is allot more room for profit with platinum as
It is in a very low state now.

The only platinum I own are two jewelry pieces. I have one I'll keep and the other one I'll sell. I'm happy to hear it's going up tho'! ;) I've never run across a good deal on the proofs, not yet anyways. Here's a pic of the one I wear, my son's birth year! :D s-l1111600.jpg s-l11111600.jpg s-l16111100.jpg

Platinum is beautiful especially the pre 2002 APEs.

It looks like platinum couldn't fall too much from its current level but I am very reluctant to get back in. Maybe its because platinum is the only PM to ever burn me and let me tell you it burned me bad. Silver I knew when to get in and I knew when to get out that latest run back up to $24 a couple years ago it was clear. But platinum man I don't know it looks good but its looked good for a long time and done nothing.

The premiums are brutal even buying a full ounce. The market is so thin. Supply and Demand is huge in this market and the labor unrest seems to have passed. They have opened new shafts in SA. There is some platinum also coming from USA and Russia now. Its not consumed much just used as a catalyst. I like it but doubt it has legs to cover the premiums plus much more unless you get another SA worker strike or something like this.

For those that got in at the $790,s are feeling pretty good right now
Even though the premiums are higher i think there is allot of room to grow
In platinum, remember it was almost 1,800 an OZ a few years back so
There is alot of growth potential.

Gold is never wrong, as always diversification is the key, it,s good to have
an assortment of each, in case one goes in to the crapper...LOL

Even in at $790 probably wouldn't even break even now at $880. Spreads in platinum are so high. Honestly $1800 a few years back doesn't mean anything now. It was actually over $2000 at latest SA strike, the one where the police came in and shot some of the strikers. The PM environment has changed a lot. Palladium getting beat down back under gold. I say platinum is range bound for a long long time. Like all the other PM

I guess I am completely lost.. you say if you bought at 790 and its 880 you might break even.. What are the hidden fees to knock that down to a break even state,

My first platinum was a 1997 1oz Eagle, but one of my favorite is the 2000 BiMetal which is Platinum and Gold.

Past performance always has to be considered, both low and high points
So that you can see where it,s been and what the true performance and
    Be achieved :)

I just bought one, got it in today's mail!! Seller's pics, my first platinum coin! :cigar: It's a 1/4 ounce and although I had to pay a premium, I don't think I came out too bad. Definitely not as bad as buying the 1/10ths. I'm happy with it, now hopefully there's a platinum rush and the price doubles or more! :D

    Nice :)

But remember the smaller you go the higher premium you pay
So what did you end up paying for it ?

I actually started looking for a good price around a month before you posted your thread here. :D I was referring to the larger premiums I paid for my 10th platinum coin jewelry piece previously. I jumped on a pebay auction, got it for a little less than $300. I'm happy with it! ;)

isn't a complete set of US mint platinum coins worth a small fortune?
