If you see classic Gold for sale at close to melt value, you can normally assume it's already been sold. When I've gotten MS Gold back from PCGS and NGC improperly graded with a "details" grade, offering the coins at spot + 5% on Craigslist, the authenticated Mint State coins are normally sold within 24 Hours.

I now have a list of individuals who'll buy whatever I have when I give them the original slab showing a straight grade.

There no absolute statements, i am simply giving you my opinion, if you have a
Different one then more power to you, but to start insulting other members
Because they dont think the way you do is ridiculous :(

"you WILL pay WAY MORE in premium for the 33, THROW AWAY MONEY" These are ABSOLUTE STATEMENTS, possibly untrue.

Please learn not to post STATEMENTS about things you know little about, and I promise not to post statements about MPC, of which I know little about. I'm STUPID (i.e. unknowledgeable) about MPC, as you are of some subjects you've discussed. Others have also informed you of your "lack of understanding" in this thread, but we often don't know until we "meet the judge".

I believe we both have proven to be stubborn "fools", by our prolonged discussion in this non-PM manner. We should probably be anticipating our
'demerits and dismissal" notification to join "V". SORRY FOLKS!

Please quit while you're ahead. ENOUGH SAID!!

I suspect you're more informed than I, but currently there is at least one online retailer having a B&M business selling "BU" double eagles at spot + 5% offline, with correct payment type. They have stopped their AU offerings, and I don't believe the BU offering will last much longer. Their offerings have significantly been diminished in the last month.

You may be right about common pre33 us gold being cheaper from Provident or JMB than from APMEX, but I would be very careful about making such a statement regarding uncommon dates. APMEX is very active in truly scarce and rare coinage.

No, Really ? it all depends on where you go and the size you get, on the 1 OZ
Variety its usually really close, however on the fractional end ASE,S are allot
Cheaper the Kruggers just about every where, so before you buy shop around !

Any idea where to buy the fractional weights and not get raked over the coals?

There are plenty of places, Jm Bullion is a real good place and usually really
Competitive on price, but when buying frantionals you will always pay
sa higher premium the lower you go, your best bet is to buy 1 OZ if you
    Can do it :)

I must be blind..don’t see any fractional buffaloes at JM. I did see a couple proofs of the smaller sizes at APMEX, but those prices would be considered getting “raked over the coals”. I’ll pay the normal premiums but that’s ridiculous.

Again its what you can bare, or think is reasonable, but really no way around
Paying them unless you can find a private party that is hurting for money.

As far as I know the only year they made fractional Buffaloes was 2008

I don't buy collector gold without seeing it. Not all AUs are the same. Some have lots of hairlines, others have been cleaned, etc.

Like a lot of the other posters here, I like numismatic gold for its history and bullion gold for its liquidity. However, due to my particular situation, the bullion coins I prefer are Maple Leafs and Philharmonics because they are much more liquid where I live. And I'll occasionally sell a numismatic gold coin if the price is right.

When you are talking about coins like 2008 fractional buffalos you don’t really use the word premium like that. They don’t really move at all with the price of gold....and mcpusa, slow down and read the post you are replying to.
