I apparently ate a bad baked potato, about a week ago at a restaurant I will not name. Although, after what I've been through. I would love too lol. Well the good news is that I'm better now & didn't die lol. Although, there were times when I wasn't so sure of that lol? Today was my first day back to work. Which I'm now considerably behind in. But I'll be ok. Well, the moral to this story/rant is. If your food tastes odd or out of character. Don't eat it. You don't want to go through, what I just went through. I REALLY wish that I trusted my first extinct & not ate the dam* thing.

Glad you are better. I went through that once 25 years ago. The misery is still quite fresh in my mind. Don’t overdo yourself even though you are behind. Your body is a wreck right now. Blessings to you.

Thank you. No, I'm not gonna kill myself getting caught up. After that horrible ordeal. I'm honestly just elated to be feeling better. I'm sorry you apparently had to go through this too. Even 25 years ago. But life is life, and unfortunately even food poisoning doesn't change my business obligations. I'll get through it though.

What an odd thing to get food poisoning from! Glad you're on the mend.

I got something bad at a buffet where we stopped for dinner halfway through a six-hour drive home. We only got an hour further up the road before it set in. That was no fun at all; the one good thing was that it didn't last nearly as long as yours.

Heavens, so glad you are better. Trust to your taste buds, as I'm sure you will do in the future. And don't eat out too much. There is nothing better than a home cooked meal, even if done on a shoestring.

Get well soon, I know how nasty food poisoning can be. Have you ever eaten at Gezzos? I've eaten there twice and got food poisoning both times. Nasty stuff.

We have to trust restaurant employees to wash their hands after they “take care of business.” You think they all do?

Yes. Hard to beat a nice home cooked meal.

I agree. I might not EVER eat one again? I like baked potatoes too. I think the problem was that the potato was bad to start with?

Glad to hear you've turned the corner.

I suffered from FP once, about 6-7 years ago. I don't wish it on anyone. Took me about five days to 'expel' it from my system. It was hell.

The sad part was for my son. He was living in Korea at the time. Home for his annual visit. He ate the same meal as me and suffered with me. The sad part was he had to catch his return flight back to Korea two days later. Don't know how he did it? I was still recovering for another three days. Ugh!

Did you put sour cream on it? That stuff can go bad if you look cross-eyed at it.

Sorry to hear that you and your son suffered through this too. I doubt that you were doing much swimming.

It could have been. They may have cut a sprout off it or something. Once they start sprouting they are actually poisonous and you can't cook that out. I think it happens when it shows green below the skin too. Anyway it's something along those lines and if it's sproutted or changed color it's just time to trash them and not take the chance

I got it from a pea salad at a buffet line. As soon as I got sick I knew exactly where it came from. Like it was intuitive or something. That was 25 years ago and to this day I can’t look at peas without cringing.

That was interesting. Maybe so? When I get time, I'm gonna try to research that. But, I'm 99 % sure it was the potato I ate.
