Is this a newer generation of PCI?

I thought I had seen them all, but this PCI generation is new to me.
Anyone have any info on when these are from?
Note: coin isn't mine; I found it browsing on eBay.

Don't know but maybe SamplesSlabs.com-PCI would help.

 

Maybe pcicoins.com has some info on their website. Maybe a number you can call?

The main PCI sample slabs are known, although some new ones can still pop up. Unfortunately this isn’t a sample.

The website is no longer active and I’m not sure if the company is in business. Last I saw, they were under new management and were advertising through Coin World. The slab on their website looked different than the example posted in this thread.

Yes I’ve seen that. PCI has gone through a multitude of owners (6 or 7...maybe even more)-some way worse than others. I do wonder if this slab was from that owner or a different one.

 

Here is a screenshot of the PCI website in 2016. Web archive shows a similar website in 2017 and then there is no more (so they likely stopped paying for the domain in late 2017).

The slab pictured on the website is what I thought was the newest (and maybe last) PCI slab.

 

At one point they were attempting to become “eBay compliant” ...it does not look like they succeeded (and the message was removed from the website sometime after 2015).

 

I read that last night. One quote I think from that page, or another. The father owner of PCA said that he was sending coins to PCI and did not know that his son owned the company. Yet the SON owned part of the Assets in PCA.
Talk about a conflict of interests.

 

There are two versions of what I call the "Bullet train" label (see @ddddd 's message #7 above). One has the 2012.02 code# and one has 2011.95.

I believe these date from the reincarnation of PCI post Delluniversita period (2011 and 2012 as dates). I've watched the 2012.02 cert#s over the years, the highest I've seen is something in the 30K range - it appears they've done a dribble of coins and some bulk grading of ASEs over the years.

The one in your first post rings a vague bell. But I would have to dig through my examples to be sure.

DLRC shutdown and sold the intelectual property and machinery off and it reappeared as the fraudulent PCI

 

I know about most, from the start (Hallmark to the green 10 digit PCI, the red problem holders, the signature series, DGS, the reincarnation of the green holders, gold holders, etc...). However, this is the first I've seen of that holder in my first post.

I did just notice that the letters "PCI" are interwoven just like the letters on the DGS holder. So maybe this was a generation right after Dominion shut down?

 

The first iteration of PCI graded very conservatively. I had a few coins graded by PCI that either received the same grade from PCGS, went down a little (AU58 to AU55), or went up a little (AU58 to MS62). The next iteration was horrible. I bought a Morgan dollar graded XF45 that was accurately graded, but someone had tried to improve Liberty's hair with a pocket knife. Don't ask me why I didn't see the scratches before I bid on the coin. Anyway, if you can find any coins in holders with PCI green labels, you can probably get them for much less than they're really worth.

 

Yes, the green label (3 codes on the reverse) are more consistent and stricter than the 2 codes green label.

The gold box are junk.

There is also a fake green label to watch out for... it uses a slughtly differnt label font and the microprinted reverse border isnt PCI PCI PCI PCI, but eather small blobs.

 

I have not seen the PCI slab shown in the OP before. Have to wonder if the company has been sold yet again. Probably not as it references the no longer active website.

Mr Paddyman 98 what is ur opinion on these coin I have here are they grading material sorry about the phone camera images.
