I won't be home for the next few days. I just want to thank all of the decent, polite and kind members ( you know who you are) of this board for all your help you gave me this year helping with Identification and checking my coins authenticity. Your help is VERY MUCH appreciated. I am sure I thanked you all back then but I just wanted to thank some of you kind folks again. I bow to your knowledge and wisdom. Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays to those nice members.
I accept all of your praise! You are most welcome #stayoffebay and merry Christmas to ALL and not just most.
Merry Christmas to all not just the "decent, polite and kind members". Which I actually consider to be everyone on here.
Merry Xmas- and To each his /her own. Wish I could agree with you but what I've seen and heard in just a few short months on here has proven "all" is not a word i would agree with .There are many good and helpful folks on here but I can never say " all" Enough said. LOL Hope you and your family have a good day Tuesday.
Here are links for free help with cognitive/social-emotional imbalances and illness. These are very common and having been a special education teacher I know there are many therapies that can help people without any social stigma from having an illness. Many folks have an especially difficult time to cope with life challenges. Many crave attention in ways that appear delusional, deceptive and fraudulent to others. On forums like this one especially! All may be symptoms of varied degrees of social-emotional illness: http://www.mentalhealthamerica.net/conditions/finding-help-when-get-it-and-where-go https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/therapy/get-free-online-therapy-should-you-use-free-counseling/ https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stress-anxiety-depression/benefits-of-talking-therapy/ https://www.betterhelp.com/helpme/?utm_source=AdWords&utm_medium=Search_PPC_c&utm_term=online therapists_b&utm_content=24152798290&network=g&placement=&target=&matchtype=b&utm_campaign=371722090&ad_type=text&adposition=1t1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI392ipae33wIVCz1pCh04jAmZEAAYASAAEgLONvD_BwE¬_found=1&gor=helpme
Yes, Merry Christmas! You'd go a long way here by posting some pictures and background info on some of the genuine coins you already have in your collection. The good folk here like to salivate over neat coins and learn about things you may specialize in that they might not be terribly familiar with. There's nothing inherently wrong with asking for opinions regarding authenticity, but "taking" that expertise far more often than you "repay" the kindness by sharing your coins and their stories makes some feel as though you don't really want to truly participate in the forum, only use their freely offered experience to secure deals for yourself. I for one would really like to see some of your Carthaginian coins and get to know you and your collection a bit better!
Ty,.Merry Xmas Plumbata okay.. ill try if you are interested in them( I didn't think you really wanted to see them since so many better coins are floating around I'm just so busy with work that I normally don't have much time to take photos and upload them I'll work on it when I get back after Xmas
Sure, there are almost always "better" coins floating around but collectors also take a keen interest in the process or "theory" behind a collector's collection, or the more personal idiosyncratic reasons an individual seeks the different items they seek which may awaken an appreciation in the reader that they didn't possess before. I can understand how some of the very rare and beautiful coins posted here seem intimidating and financially inaccessible (for now ) but I like to see it as aspirational encouragement to keep learning, building my business and expanding access to quality sources. More important than the coins themselves is the knowledge, wisdom and encouragement shared and reciprocated by the community which enriches everyone individually as well as the hobby overall. Whether you're a newbie with less than 100.00 worth of crusty Late Roman bronzes or grizzled veteran with a big personal museum full of rarities we all at least have being collectors in common. Take the time when you can to share some of your collection and the reasons behind it, and you will probably be met with much more warmth and encouragement and insightful new ideas or perspectives than from the sum total of all your queries regarding authenticity.
Yes, Merry Christmas to all... even to those who on their first day of CoinTalk membership argue, make mistakes, insult others, and then fail to acknowledge their errors . https://www.cointalk.com/threads/sicily-octopus-coin-worth-it.319880/#post-3132861
Last night ABC TV rebroadcast their two (IMHO Classic) Christmas specials "Prep and Landing". In the second one, we met the Coal Elves whose job it is to service the Naughty List and a little girl who made the list because of her little brother. I won't tell you how it ended or why I thought it appropriate to mention here because the sleigh is double parked and I have a busy evening planned. Ho, Ho, Ho. Merry Christmas.
I always find when reading posts, IMs or phone texts it is very easy to misunderstand a persons true meaning or intent. We don't hear the tone of their voice, we don't see if they're smiling or not, we can't look them in the eye, we can't see their body language. Some are better at expressing themselves using these tools than others. I know I have been misinterpreted here a couple of times... is that my fault? Probably yes but the medium does not lend itself to interpreting these subtleties well. Merry Christmas to each and every one of you. Have a safe and happy time with your family. I appreciate the help I have received here. This thread needs a coin with an olive branch!! Merry Christmas. I have been spending my entire 2-1/2-week Christmas vacation on my coins, all day and late into the night.
Merry Christmas !! I hope everyone got what they wanted. I know I did : a new computer and a new wide-screen TV. The better to see my coins with !!
Merry Christmas to all of you! I sure do hope I made the "cointalk list" of people who are good. I try to be nice, decent, and kind to all members/ users. I sometimes make the mistake of trying to teach/educate too hard. If a person posts an incorrect fact in the future: I shall attempt to exercise discipline, by just simply let them discover their error on their own, and in their own time. I think most people only accept truths in this way. It took me awhile to admit that I tend to over-educate. So Merry Christmas to everyone on the site, because we all can learn to be good.
