The Antoninus Pius and Marcus Aurelius denarius from the same seller looks a little mushy to me, but it could just be the photograph. When it comes to eBay I tend to err on the side of caution, even if it costs me a bargain now and then.

A widely faked type on eBay, sold by a seller that does not allow returns, has no feedback and sells other suspect looking coins.... hmm...

Edited: hope my post didn’t come across as snotty... I was just pointing out that there are a lot of reasons to be wary.

Still limited access to the account information.... Hmmm.

I two minute check in the fake reports should be sufficient to be certain about authenticity of this type.

@Svarog - they are wanting to be able to see your Profile page, and they cannot do so. You're saying you've made changes to your preferences to allow that, but I can tell you as of right now they still can't.

What I suspect is going on is that you are checking the box to allow all members access to your profile page, but you are forgetting to scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Save Changes button after you check that box. So give that a try.

As for the rest of you, a little suspicion can be a good thing. But, each and every one of you has the right to keep his or her profile private if you wish to do so. You are given that right for a reason, and because each of you has that right, others should respect it.

That said, if all anybody wants to do is to see previous posts made by anybody who is a member of this forum, doing so is a pretty simple matter. Simply use the search function. Type the member's name on the line where it says Posted By Member, leave all other lines blank, and click on the search button. Every post made by that member will come up.

Hover over your user name at the top right of the page, and on the drop-down menu, click "Privacy". Here's a screen shot:

On the Privacy page, under Edit Your Personal Details, click the box next to "View your details on your profile page" and select "All Visitors".

I remember seeing you on the board for a couple of years and your join date shows as mid 2016, but I couldn't remember what types of things you've posted and wanted to review.

Having your privacy set to hide your profile, effectively blocking easy access to others who wish to review your prior posts, is something almost every spammer or troll does but it is not something a regular member usually does. You may have accidentally changed your setting but it raised red flags.

I just wanted to see if you had asked a bunch of "what is this/is it real/what is it worth" questions in the past before putting effort into answering your post.

True... but it is much easier to just go to a user's profile page. As far as I can tell, the only thing limiting others' access to your profile accomplishes is making them go through extra steps to find things you've posted... the procedure you described.

Doing a search would bring up all posts in which the user responded but using their Profile allows another member to filter for threads the other member has started, and that is frequently helpful in many ways.

I don't dispute any of that TIF. BUT - he, or anybody else has the right to keep their profile private should they wish to do so. And quite honestly, people should not be doubted or suspected of possible, shall we say "bad things", simply because they wish to protect their privacy.

I absolutely guarantee that each and every one of you wants to protect your own privacy in one way or another. So each and every one of you should also respect others rights to do the same.

What's more he has expressed his desire to make his profile available. But I suspect he's trying to do just that, but making a simple mistake that is preventing it.

I will add this, I can see his profile, and whole lot more. And nobody here has anything to worry about that I can see.
