We had snow today/ so much for global warming:shame::shame::shame::shame::shame::shame::shame::shame::shame::shame::shame::shame:! Probably its an impending "Ice Age".

Since I could not work today, I decided to put misery to good use and bid on some auctions. Tonight I won a MS-64 US 1849 "Open Wreath" Gold Dollar. This morning a ultra rare Visigoth AV Tremissis ND Cordoba Mint/ King Erwig. In a Jesus Vico Auction this went for 4700 Euros in EBC- (VF+) This coin was slabbed by ANACS as MS-63 f333a48399e757faf5c9fe99a1ada4a3.jpg

What's even sillier is your opening statement based on what ...science fact? Or the fact you believe an inch of snow in your back yard is proof enough for everyone to believe that what is actually happening to the planet can't be real?
Yeah....tell that to all whom have had to deal with a Hellva lot more then a light dusting of snow!

Since we've seen fit to go off on an irrelevant (and notably controversial) topic, I would like to take this opportunity to help diffuse the matter. Kindly note that your use of "then" should be "than" as you are writing comparatively. Essentially, "then" is used as a continuer in a sentence. Here are examples of "then" and "than" being used correctly: "She is going to the store and then she is going to walk her dog." "The man has a larger yard than his neighbors do."

Human made climate change is a SCIENTIFIC FACT that has been falsely politicized due to the greed of fossil fuel industries and the weapons industry that is run on fossil fuels. Sorry to rebut your "joke" @panzerman but this here tree hugger has studied this stuff and knows better. We find also the respect of the Earth and nature as so holy on many ancient coins that she is worshipped. juliacoinboughtgaia.jpg
A rare depiction of the Earth as Gaia/Tellus, the sacred Tree goddess and her four children as the seasons on a Julia Domna denarius. TIF has a one in way better condition but I cherish this hard to find worn one. Hopefully our coins won't all be under water or burnt to a crisp in forest fires when we come to our senses.

Stop. One can certainly talk about the weather, but when it is then tied to a discussion on man's role in global warming, it becomes a discussion bordering on politics/ world events. Next such will be a problem. Jim.

Here's a thought... maybe people who almost never post on the ancient board shouldn't do so only to call out members who do contribute in order to start drama over non coin related topics (that may have been part of a joke anyway). Do you have some ancient coin related insight or coins to share? Because that is what this board is for.

@panzerman , Beautiful coin. I don't have any gold Visigothic coins to share but below is my most recent auction win which I am also pretty excited about.

And here is reality ....I don't give a rat's butt about all you Johnny's come lately who have been here a couple of years , thrown a few bucks in the kitty ,and think they rule here! Skirting the rules mocking ,and fighting with the mods .That in fact Peter the owner ,asked or appointed to over see the rules, and regulations of this forum!
I know at least least a dozen members ,or more who not only supported this forum financially as well sharing their knowlege for years now gone!
Oh no... they didn't pass on... they got fed up with the total disrespect and disregards to the rules and mods!
You sir do not have "the juice "to tell me ,or any member where they can and can't post end of story!
The drama started in the first lines of the orginal post by crossing the line....it did not or does not pertain to anything numismatics!

My apologise to "pman" if in" fact " his intentions was to be a joke....however one must ask themselves why would you even go there? The opening statement has nothing to do with the specimen posted. Just an invite to be called out,and start drama.
Lastly I will extend my apologies to the members at large for any disruption caused by my post. That wasn't my intent.
I take my hobby very seriously, as well the well being of my community, and family and friends.
Rest assured from here on any post that skirt the rules here will be reported by me...and if I cross that line then I should be called out...also.

I thought the "koolaid head" was King Erwig. I researched it some more in Grierson's book, and found it was a portrait of Jesus instead....My Lord!
I agree, from Dec15th to March 31sto_O But....not on November 9th. when I was out blowing leaves:dead: But there was a "Silver lining" had I not been snowed out/ I would have missed out on the two coins I won:) Still can trim some cedar hedges while this 3 cm. dusting of snow melts.....

@panzerman, there's nothing wrong with buying duplicates but may I ask what prompted you to get the second coin?

Your first example, 2016, which looks like a better strike and higher grade:
