I couldn't resist this coin after seeing zumbly's fantastic RIC VI: 208 busy pediment if you missed his post here's the link...https://www.cointalk.com/threads/eh-whats-that-in-your-pediment.276537/ it also sought of reminds me of the dancers in John Travolta's Saturday night fever. Any way I figure it will take me ages to find one like his so this will do in the meantime. It's a shame the flan shape does not allow for reverse full inscription. LTb86cGMX9txKKn2Q4ry7tD7eMg523.jpg
Good VF Maxentius follis. Quite scarce with Dioscuri in pediment.

    6.79 g, 23.1 x 25.2 mm.

RIC VI:208 for Rome. Struck 308-310 AD.

OBV.: Maxentius right, IMP C MAXENTIVS PF AVG.

REV.: Roma seated facing, head left, in hexastyle temple, holding globe and scepter, shield at side; Dioscuri in pediment and Victories as acroteria, CONSERV VRB SVAE, REP in exergue.
Also notice quite a few variations of his bust facial features of his coinage, post your Maxentius portrait coins.

I like that pediment detail very much! Happy little Dioscuri doing the Saturday Night Fever boogie... how cool is that! :)

Here's my Maxentius with the Dioscuri posing with their hobby horses.

Very nice, you have the fat head version of Maxentius, if I had a choice this is the portrait (Ticinum) that I would like on my Rome coin, it seems more realistic agree? Ez8jgDL3AQ9is5SWGZ4aFrx623An8k.jpg

The acroteria here (Victories) obviously have contracted Saturday Night Fever, too!

That's a great one! Ticinum had some nice portraits, but some no better than your average "fat head version" (see the second example below):

    Maxentius - Temple Ticinum 1651.jpg
    MAXENTIUS
AE Follis. 6.08g, 26.8mm. Ticinum mint, AD autumn 307 - spring 308. RIC VI Ticinum 95. O: MAXENTIVS PF AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. R: CONSERV - VRB SVAE, Roma seated facing, head left, within hexastyle temple, holding globe and sceptre; knobs as acroteria; TT in exergue.

    Maxentius - Temple Ticinum 1654.jpg
    MAXENTIUS
AE Follis. 5.02g, 24.2mm. Ticinum mint, AD May 308 - 309/310. RIC VI Ticinum 108. O: IMP MAXENTIVS PF AVG, laureate head right. R: CONSERV - VRB SVAE, Victory standing left with palm in hand, crowning Roma seated facing, within tetrastyle temple, holding globe and sceptre; knobs as acroteria; TT in exergue.

They are two really great coins Doug, to have the Dioscuri and twins WOW, and the detail on the one below it is fantastic, it being the type I want next.

Yes and I notice the Ticinum mint types had boring temples as well.
