I used to have GE too, recently.

But I bailed before they cut dividends, before the price started driving down from the 30s (bought them years ago around 26) simply becz I concluded the dividend wasn't worth it as the stock price was going to go sideways for a long while until the company reengineered itself. Plus I really wanted the $$ invested in another stock that I thought had a lot of legs on it, and still does.

Years and years ago I had GE around $80 if I recall correctly - Like a couple decades ago. I was hoping they could bring the stock price back up to that level but they never had the level of profitability even though they were buying up companies to increase total revenue.

BACK WHEN THE .COM STARTED, EVERYONE WAS GOING CRAZY YOU COULD BUY NASDAQE TOOTPICK .COM,TOYS.COM YOU NAME IT. I HAD DISH NETWORK AND THE STOCK WENT UP $25.00 IN 3 HRS. IT REALLY WAS CRAZY, EVERY TIME I SEE WHATS GOING ON NOW( WITH THESE SUPER FAST COMPUTERS) THE MARKET COULD REALLY BE VUNERABLE IN SECONDS. THEY PREPROGRAM THESE COMPUTERS TO SELL AT A PRICE AND BUY WHEN IT CRASHES . I THINK FROM WHAT READ AND WATCH SILVER ,I DON'T LIKE THE SHORT SELLERS AND WHAT THERE DOING, I THINK JP MORGAN GOT A DEAL WITH THE GOV'T WHEN BEAR STEARNS CRASHED JP MADE A DEAL WITH THE JUDGE WHEN THEY TAKE OVER STERNS PROBLEMS, LEAVE US ALONE WITH SILVER CONTRACTS FOR 10 YRS. ,WELL TEN YEARS IS OVER AND JP IS LIKE THE HUNT BROTHERS ONLY THE GOV'T NOT STEPPING IN. DEUTCHE BANK GOT IN BIG TROUBLE WITH THE SILVER(FINED) FOR MANIPULATION AND I THINK ANOTER BANK ALSO. BUT JP IS REALLY SELLING SHORT BUYING LOW AND WITH SO MANY CONTRACTS MOVING THE SILVER TO $14.00 AND THEN BUY LOW, BACK TO $17.00 AND THEN SELL.I ALSO HEARD THEY BUY SCRAP & JUNK TO MELT INTO BARS AND STACK. I'M STILL WONDERING WHAT THEY HAVE UP THERE SLEEVE /W THIS SILVER. MAYBE THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH HARD SILVER TO COVER ALL THERE CONTRACTS. ONE DAY WE WILL FIND OUT ,MAYBE THERE THINKING CRYTO /W SILVER BACKING? ,JUST A THOUGHT

Yup, I recall I showed a friend how you can make easy money in the early years. I bought ONE share of eBay and watched it go up and up and up. Sold it that same day at a nice profit even after transaction fees and ST tax calculations.

Crazy time in the stock market.
I liked toys.com. Bought a bunch of toys when they were liquidating. Early days of returns killing a business model.

Do you have any links to that JP Morgan/Silver thing ?
Can you stop using all upper case. Gives me a headache

Charles Lindbergh said that during his flight across the Atlantic Ocean he experienced hallucinations, saw apparitions that spoke to him, and saw fog Islands forming in the sea.

I get that when I fly into the Denver airport.

Lindbergh was probably breathing all the fumes from his in cabin gigantic gas tank and staying awake for 30 hours.

He was awake for over 55 hours all together. He didn't get much sleep before the flight.

The couple articles I found had inaccuracies in them at the beginning, then tried to build a foundation based upon those inaccuracies. IMHO

Such as one stated "The JPMorgan “silver hoard” is supposed to be twice as large as that of the Hunt Brothers; yet it comes at a time where global silver inventories are at best one quarter as large as back in 1980."

Current global silver inventories are 1/4 of what they were in 1980?

I know reports show that supposedly demand is outstripping supply. But
I have not investigated it at all and it's pure speculation, but I think the term "inventory" is very limited here.

I think the one article term is based on NEW inventory to be sold to buyers (not any existing, etc type inventory). Although other reports show production higher than previous years .. contracting information. Thus new for sale inventories may be down, but stockpiles [or inventory] held by governments, banks, people, are probably WAY UP.

Unless they are stating that not only has all the new mining/production of silver since 1980 to today has been lost/used in manufacturing or sent to outer space or something but existing non-JPM inventories also do not exist.

And if their case is correct and JPM holds 2x what the Hunt Brothers have, and there only 1/4 of the silver in the world as there was in 1980 ... then silver technically should be hovering around $128/oz and going up becz all new silver is mostly lost in outer space to prevent an increase in overall "inventories".

But we all know all the gov'ts especially emerging nations over the past 20 years has been buying and stacking. Thus existing/old inventories grow. So I don't understand the foundational argument there without further research or detailed statistical and citational elaboration.

Gosh .. how long has Ted Butler been writing about how Silver is going to shoot to the moon. If he keeps writing for another 20 years he might be right at some point.

If you never read anything ever again from Ted Butler you will be far better off. He is just a Silver pimp with absolute zero credibility.

Also BTW, all the manipulation stuff about Ag is pure crap. It is false justification for why Silver didn't go to the moon like the pimpers said it would.

I guess we will have to wait and see, but I like my silver better than the fiat in my wallet.

You should try stacking New, Uncirculated, strapped bills.
The feel, smell etc is just as good as stacking Silver if not better IMHO.

The stuff in your wallet is worn down, cruddy printed cloth paper.

It's like comparing a silver ASE smashed with a hammer for 10 minutes on concrete to an uncirculated one.

Do people really think that those writers, Butler, etc., take their salary home in silver rather than fiat??? After all it is so much more valuable than paper cash~ right??? Do silver miners take theirs home in cash or silver? Darn, Aldi, Walmart, Costco, even Lou's member only gun shop won't. If you have a business , would you? If your cash has no value, do you empty your wallet of the ugly paper stuff for the waitperson? Dream on.

If JP Morgan is making mucky money from using paper options or futures, why not you???
Just curious as I have no business activity in that area. Jim

you wonder why they have a wallet at all instead of a purse/bag?

All income should be received in silver/gold.
All payments should be done in silver/gold.
All retirement accounts are done in PM IRAs.
I wonder what's stopping them from that ??

Maybe move to a country where their currency is backed by PMs.

    Just checked Butlers Website.....

Seems he only accepts Fiat. Go Figure....

A Damn shame people actually pay him $35 a month just to hear Silver is going up, and it's the manipulators fault, month after month after month after month after month.

PMs as a method of financial standing cannot be used to handle various things like Inflation, Wage Growth, long distance trade, general commerce, etc. with foreign gov'ts. It's okay for localized barter/trade.

PM based currency led to inflation and stagnation in the past. The gov't had to control the price of PMs as PMs had to be bought and guaranteed to a bearer of a paper note. This made it unattainable as the money supply had to be maintained to provide a method of commerce, wages, etc. This also made it an unlikely method for investment with a controlled valuation.

Technically, for every ounce redeemed, another ounce had to be bought to take it's place because that dollar bill has to enter distribution again. That's 2x the price.

I love my silver and gold, but I also know it's real limits.
