Happy 5th CT Anniversary, TIF! I've had so many fun "remember that time..." moments with you here, and hope to have many more. Thanks for 5 years of laughs, inspiration, education, and friendship! Hey, remember that time...
OK. You must admit that hockey pucks belong in Canada. Perhaps I will remind you of the weight. That would be <ahem> 93.27g. But those are happy tears, yes? happy tears?
Wow 5 years, congrats. It doesn't seem that long ago, but it has been a little over 2 years ago that your generousity and willingness to help me with my first ancients that made me cross over to ancients. Thank You. **edited to add a coin, one I haven't posted in a long time. Thracian Chersonesos AR Hemidrachm, 13mm, 2.0g; c. 386-338 BC. Obv.: Forepart of lion right, head reverted. Rev.: Quadripartite incuse square with alternating raised and sunken quarters; monogram in sunken one quarter, pentagram in opposite quarter. Reference: McClean 4071.
Happy VOT V - It is always fun to see a master coin artist at work. I had to buy a sewer goddess coin after seeing your throne room shrine. Roman Republican Denarius L. Somehow I thought you had been at CoinTalk for much longer - such is the knowledge I have gained from your posts and comments. You animations are pretty funny too! I wish very enjoyable many more years at C.T!!
CONGRATULATIONS, @TIF ! When I joined CoinTalk, I had some strange ideas One of them was—If it's not in a slab, it must be a fake Anyway, you were one of the first members to reply to my nonsense. Thanks for not beating up on me—too badly
Cute Oh yes I do remember that time and still laugh about it! https://www.cointalk.com/threads/a-pound-of-ptolemies.258255/#post-2064291 Judge for yourself... Thanks! It's from a thread started earlier this month. Maybe the title word "quiz" made you skip it? https://www.cointalk.com/threads/quiz-roman-provincial-portrait-quiz-2.321132/ That may have been my most influential post. I think a half dozen people have since found their own sewer goddesses https://www.cointalk.com/threads/ancients-a-deity-worthy-of-respect.251682/ More 'shops and visual jokes:
Congrats, TIF. It was your reference in a post to my MFB site that brought me here and for that I am very grateful!
@TIF, you're part of the reason why I love CT so much! I'm looking forward to another wonderful five years!
Happy Anniversary @TIF - I've really enjoyed your posts and coin pics as well as the hilarious GIFs, and numismatic contributions to this fine field of study since I joined last April (2017). Here's to many more years on CT!!!
Um... OK? Are you saying the marriage wouldn't last, sending the hockey pucks into a spiral of depression and drug abuse, precipitating scenes of extreme familial dysfunction... but then wonderful Saint Zumbly will come to the rescue of the poor neglected children? Well, my oktobol will thank you to keep your scurrilous speculations to yourself! In addition, what you are clearly failing to realize is that if that unlikely scenario were to transpire, the kids would obviously be skinny and underfed. In adulthood they'd barely tip the scales at tetrobol. And I think your holier-than-thou good deediness would just evaporate. Wouldn't it? Ha! Can you believe this guy, TIF?
(You'll have to ask Z why he's wearing a Viking hat. If he tells you he was attending a party for his very young son, he's probably lying. Word is he likes to wear it for all occasions, much to his wife's dismay.) Take that, Z! The nerve.
Congrats!!! I was a recently formed coin addict, and interested in ancients, but very intimidated at the same time. It was your story Tif, about how you got involved that gave me the confidence to jump in. Thanks!!
