I'm just amused at seeing my First Spouse coins become more valuable for the melt value than what I paid for them. The question is whether the runup in gold prices will affect the price of these coins.
Well over 2 years ago I made a prediction that gold would see $1000/Oz by 2007-2008 The economy and value of the US Dollar is in deep trouble as our debt is astronomical and it is only going to get worse in the near term. Ride the bull fellas..ride the bull.... I have been buying up to the $525 mark and now I am setting my target to sell at 925.00 with 43 ounces, I stand to do pretty well. RickieB
ROTFL My dear Spock1..tis not the case...it all comes from years of education, buying at the bottom going up...and being a hard headed nincompoop! The Gold investment is all in bullion coins which lowers the risk somewhat, instead of buying high grade rare gold coins which in the long run in a Gold bull market may or may not fair better! I am happy with my long wait and rewards...the $$$$ will go to my Son's investment fund. The Paper collection is something I do on the side with $$$ earned from my job and commissions...pretty much just like everyone else. Regards, RickieB
new high i like to adjust again the estimated prices that the u.s. mint might do for the 2008 gold coins. bald eagle gold unc: $322.95, proof $342.95 am eagle (w) unc gold one ounce $1,121.95 proof $1,181.95 half ounce unc: 574.95, proof $609.95 1/4 ounce unc: $299.95, proof $319.95 5th spouse gold unc: $582.95, proof $602.95 sorry folks. that's only my estimation.
you are wrong because the price went up because they were people buying them at higher price. just like the stock market. you win, someone lose. you lost, someone win. simple. at $600.00 a piece for spouse gold. people will still buy them. who knows the 6th spouse might be higher than the 5th. and 7th pouse higher than the 6th and so forth.
have you seen the mint inventory for the 4th spouse as yet? there is still time left wake up. when the bubble bursts it will be 1980 all over again
bubble? unless the dollar recover again. or else. it will keep going up. the oil, gold & silver will continue to rise.
if i pickup early tomorrow and it goes south ill end up in the mire i will wait honestly i am hoping and praying it goes back to 800
The mint has to keep making them because the program is mandated by law. If only a few people buy them, the later ones could end up being very rare issues in the future. Does anyone know how long the mint will continue to offer each issue? Do they automatically get discontinued when the next one comes out or does the mint have discretion to keep selling each one as long as they want to?
