Episode 20 of the '70's silver art bar show:

Yesterday, I purchased a complete 12-bar set of the 1975-1975 Hamilton Mint Norman Rockwell's 12 Best Loved Post Covers 1916-1960 in original mint packaging with COA's. I paid $227.40 for the 12-bar set ($18.95 per 1-oz silver art bar).

    No worries.
I struggled with the tile as I Hate that Bar Rescue show.
If the show wasn't filled with all the screaming and BS drama, it might be worth a watch.

I figured this is a Bullion Thread so I Borrowed the catchy name.

I did buy one of those DOW rounds at a flea market earlier this year for $19. I ended up selling it for "only" $35. I made money on the sale (after ebay, PP and shipping costs) but I say "only" because I could have probably sold it for at least $50. I think that I saw a past auction on this round that it sold for $89. I live and learn.

I did buy (rescue) some 1-oz '70's silver art bars from a coin shop while I was out of town on Friday (July 27) but I bought most of those as "business inventory" for the purpose of reselling on ebay. I bought a total of 13 1-oz '70's silver art bars from that coin shop. I paid $17.95 per 1-oz bar. Mainly those old bars are from Mother-Lode Mint, Hamilton Mint, Madison Mint. Very common ones.

Yes after I bought it because I thought it was cool, I checked on the bay to see what the were bringing.
One sold for $60 last month and I think that was a little light, 3 listings up now between $80/$100.

At this point, I do not think that I have any silver art rounds in my personal collection. I have observed several different silver art rounds go for a large collector premium on ebay. If I come across a cool silver art round for .999 generic premium, I will buy it in order to flip it on ebay and use the net profit to buy a '70's silver art bar.

    Hole Lee Slim Pickens.
Made a 600 mile round road trip world wind tour stopping in at a few coin/we buy G&S/pawn places.
One silver bar rescued, last week the seller wanted $17.50.
It's cool and all BUT Dang it's a 1/4 ounce bar.
Every other shop was out of silver bars OR wasn't selling in this down market, I even offered $20 an ounce IF they had something cool just to get a peek of the NFS silver....No deal, not going to waste their time showing inventory.
My last stop was the 1/4 ounce bar and the guy agreed the price was nuts.
We agreed on $5 + tax in California.

    Banca cremi 1/4 onza.

Years ago I bought a delinquent safety deposit box auction lot that contained two 6 bar sets and a 12 bar set, all 3 sets have the brown woodgrain cases with serial numbers.

Unfortunately, I missed out on those. I was on ebay a lot today but I was listing more old silver art bars for sale.

Even though I missed out on it, I did buy a couple of old silver art bars today and I bought several 1981 Franklin Mint 2-gram and 3-gram sterling silver art bars yesterday from a local dealer.

I cracked the ceeco bars out of the tombs.

Also looks like I got lucky on the 1981-s proof set that came in the lot.
It being a Type 2 set should recoup a third of the money spent on the lot.
