Can anyone tell me what could the line across the mouth be or in the reverse above the FG there is an image.
Hard to say from the pictures, but I think that could just be a streaky band of toning beginning to appear. It is possible that there were some impurities in the alloy the planchet (blank) was made from. These slight impurities can eventually cause what is known as "woodgrain" toning. In your coin's case, if it is in fact a "woodie in the making", then the process has just begun. Woodgrain toning is by definition rather streaky. It can be attractive or ugly, depending on the coin, and the eye of the beholder. Some folks like it. Others aren't so keen. Here is a more advanced case of woodgrain toning, in an old thread by @blu62vette. Here is a woodgrain-toned Shield nickel that came up in a random search on eBay. (I have no connection to the seller, but will give a courtesy link since I've borrowed his photo.) Your coin might be a "woodie" that's just begun the process. Or it could merely be stained. I can't tell from the pictures. I don't see anything over the FG. In any event, it's unlikely to be worth any more than the value of a regular Red Uncirculated 1963-D cent, which is to say not very much. It's just a result of environmental conditions and not a mint error. But it's kind of interesting.
Thanks for the feed back. I found it quite interesting and educational. That explains a lot of my pennies. I kind of like that look so I keep them. Yeah my camera has a mind of its own at times it allows me to capture great images. Here's a closer look at the image I see.
That's kind of out of focus. I like your little pointy-hand sticker, though. My phone camera doesn't have useful ones like that. Just really dumb ones.
I would just think someone scraped another penny or something across the face of it. From right to left, missing the dips like right behind the back of the neck. On the far left you can see a little bit of metal buildup before the rim starts. ie, PMD.
Just my opinion but it looks like the word liberty is misaligned. But maybe I need my glasses checked.
