Do you have an emotional attachment to your bullion?

Will you find it difficult to sell?

We often think nothing of buying or selling a stock, opening or closing a CD, but what about your money is in something physical like silver or gold. Do you develop an emotional attachment to a particular piece of the shiny stuff? If so, will that make it difficult for you to ever sell it?

well. I have bullion coins. I don't buy generic bars or rounds. So some of them Yes, others No.
Unless the price spikes for some odd reason.

Case in point, when those US MINT ASE Congratulation sets spiked up in price last year; I sold them all. That was just plain "stupid money".

Bullion? Yes, I hate it all. It's all a bit unhealthy, actually.

My one sister married a guy who had "married his stocks". Does that make him a bigamist?

Yeah, I have an emotional attachment . . . when bullion goes down I feel just like I do when my taxes go up!

Seriously though, I'll profitably sell any coin I have for the opportunity to buy and learn about another.

Depends . . . did he have more than one stock?

After she worked him over pretty good about it. It was "legacy stock" in an east coast bank of which his dad was a founder. After about a gazillion mergers, it's now Wells Fargo.

Pretty hard for her to expect him to part with that, or at least all of it.

All she asked was diversification. After a while, she got it, just before the stock tanked.

For me, no attachment whatsoever. It just sits until I see a price I'm comfortable to sell for. And then start over when the price is right.

Sure I have a few pieces that it would take 2x spot or better for me to pass on to someone else.

My psychiatrist friend says he has a patient who sleeps with his money: coins, bullion, cash, etc. He lost his family to sanity long ago and lives alone with his computer friends. I asked , what did you do. He said we talk , and he cries, but when he pays me, it is cash!

I asked : Is this true? he said ~ You know a lot of coin collector don't you !!
