Glad your Mother's gift arrived safely!

You should consider USPS Registered mail in the future. If you read up on how it works you may find it is the most secure way to send valuable packages. That said, it is slow, but I prefer security over speed every time.

Glad your Mom received her lovely gift safely! Sure was thoughtful of you! You know, I really never thought about UPS/Fed Ex/USPS insurance differences before this original post! Then again, I've never purchased $100K in gold coins at one time and had them shipped to me in a trailer park. I live in Florida and there are some ultra fancy parks in our area too!!!! I'm with you though . . . . I think the driver did the heist. :)

Pffft, I used to tell the UPS man to sign my name and leave the box in the bushes.

So, I recently got a job at a high end clothing store in the delivery room. My coworker, who has been working there for 8 years, mentioned the other day that "if you want to make sure something gets there, use UPS". They have had many "lost" packages with USPS, but not nearly as much in UPS.

I think this may show a bit about UPS drivers integrity and reputation (of delivering their packages).

Now, if i somehow found out that there was 100K in gold in one of my packages... well that might test my integrity.

Moral of the story- buy your gold in person
