Best websites to buy "junk" silver coins and eagles?

I have recently thought about buying silver coins from online websites. Looking mainly for Morgan & Peace dollar low grade culls, and deals on 90% junk silver. I've also seen damaged or circulated ASEs on sites with a smaller charge above premium. I see Money Metals Exchange advertised here in click ads on CoinTalk, and their prices look pretty competitive. Any advice on which site I should try out? Thanks!

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

The ads appearing on CT are not necessarily endorsed by CT.
    Caveat emptor.
Have you looked anywhere else but the ad?
I'd do mucho on line research before sending someone money based on an ad.

I always start at www.comparesilverprices.com. They have a good variety of dealers on there. Nice place to start.

I have no affiliation with the website, just think its a good site and good, legitimate dealers.

I've done about a weeks worth of research, read reviews (although they are on the website itself and who knows how authentic they are?). The ad is what got me interested, and I've looked around since then. They have Morgans for $19 and Peace for $18. People say the product they receive is exponentially better than what they pay. Also have rolls of SLQs and barber quarters on another website for $145 and $185, respectively. I've seen better on eBay, but ebay is hit or miss.

I just checked that website, but it looks as if they don't have comparisons for silver dollar coins or junk silver coins, only eagles. Unless I'm not seeing it?

It is just a comparison of dealer for a few items. I use it for the list of good PM dealers. Click and check their sites to see what they offer.

For the most part, if I am looking for junk I go to coin shows and see what local dealers have.

Have you considered posting here in the want to buy section? People sometimes offer them for sale here also.

I have a good dealer who sells at spot, but he rarely has Morgans/Peace dollars, and they're around $20 each when he does. I was trying to find good deals on line, but the shipping usually doesn't make it worthwhile.

You can always enter Cull Morgan Lot (or Peace Dollar Lot) into the search at EBay
and you may be able to get something at a good price if there's no action.

I check comparesilverprices once in a while. But many places charge shipping on top of their price, which makes them more costly than other places.

So you have to go through their checkout process to see the Total Cost, then compare to other places. I know there's a few places that offer free shipping such as Provident and Apmex for orders more than $99. So you still have to check around make a list of your favorites and always check them.

It would be better to wait when you have $100+ to spend to get free shipping.

I've been having the best luck from Provident buying the random year BU ASEs when silver dips or when they have sales.

The savings of 10 cents per coin for "cull" isn't worth it to me when trying to sell damaged/painted coins later on.

The sites I've been looking on require you to spend over $1,000 to get free shipping. As for the culls, I only am thinking of purchasing Morgans or Peace culls. The ASEs they sell that are "damaged" are just frosted or toned from what I've been reading. They're not painted, dented, scratched, or anything like that.

I tried this just now, but it looks to me like most of the lots are buy it now's with pricing between 19-20 a coin, plus shipping. Also, the coins are in far worse condition that I'm led to believe the websites have. What I'm going to do it buy about 20 from the website and see for myself the condition. I just hope I don't get solid 1921 Morgans.
