I figured I'd start a new thread about silver art bars that we rescue from the melting pot.

I picked up another 3 today,

I ran out of walking around money, so I had to leave a few more behind.
I'll make my way out in the morning and try to liberate them tomorrow.

    at $20.

1 oz Silver Bar - Stagecoach (Fractional)
There is 2 older ones and 2 newer ones.

APMEX is out of stock on the Newer ones, I wish they would still show the price they WERE listed at on their website.

They you do have fakes of these Missing one of the horses legs. and notice how the corners of the bar are a tighter radius.
    Thanks FakeBullion.com

I asked the local G&S place how they check new arrivals and he said they check with X-ray.

Interesting...probably one of those verifying guns.

This is a very interesting thread IMO. I am a silver art bar collector. I have a YT channel called the "'70's silver art bar show". I did some YT videos of some of my "bar rescues". Some select episodes of my YT shows:

Episode 1 of the '70's silver art bar show:

If that 1976 Doyle's Coin Palace US Bicentennial bar has the Greathouse reverse type, then that is a very good find IMO. Congrats.

Where are you guys running into these bars at ? Seems to me most pawn shops unload them ASAP for the small melt profit ? Would love to stock some of these bars... All in on both metals now and their producers. Can't really lose going forward from here in this UPCOMING economy.

Brian, I've been looking at the We Buy gold and silver stores.
My local one get new stuff in from California every couple weeks.
Pawn shops don't usually have much, but when you go in >> Ask for them if you don't see anything in the case.

I have been able to find '70's silver art bars at the following places:

    1. Coin shops (local and out-of-town)

    2. Coin shows

    3. Flea markets

I have not had much luck with the pawn shops here in my area. I think that most of the pawn shops in my area just end up sending any silver art bar to the refinery to melt them down instead of selling them to the public.

It is the uniqueness of the '70's silver art bars that makes me buy them. The many different themes of the 1970's 1-oz silver art bars that got me hooked on them.

I am not sure. I will have to take a breather from buying and see how many I actually have in my personal collection. I have a lot of them for sure. I have been lucky enough to find them in local coin shops.

    Here's one that's beyond rescue.
Sad It was once a cool looking 10 ounce JM old pour bar.
I forgot to ask how much.
