I guess that depends on how small a coin you want. I mean this 1/4 is about the size of a nickel. You can get one about the size of a dime cheaper but I wish I could have afford a half.

Thanks...but I was thinking more of an Ancient or classic US or World coin would fit in with my collection. Not really into the bullion. I know it will be more than melt and not so "pretty", but it will fit my collection better.

Hmm. What's your budget? Do you insist on MS (for classic US)? Would you consider cleaned or holed examples?

Some of the small Mexican gold can be had quite cheaply...

Small compared to others I see. We live on a modest budget. I usually have to save up for a more expensive coin. The only problem with that is I usually see a coin I really want in the meantime and oops now I have to save up some more.:shame:

I have always had a soft spot for silver coins and this fits my budget much better. I don't buy bullion or cull lots...Just silver world coinage.

I just noticed this is in the Bullion forum...sorry.

it depends on what that modest budget is, i think for most people 1 oz Gold is
Out of reach for steady investment, maybe here an again would be more in
The line of reason, but there are other sizes to consider, fractional gold 1/10, 1/4
And 1/2 oz are more reasonable but you will pay a premium going that route
but for sure more affordable :)

There are also plenty of 1/20th ounce gold bullion coins produced. They have a slightly higher premium, but they generally keep it in resale.

I agree. Gold fever is real!! After I bought my first one I definitely wanted more!! Over time I’ve bought what I could afford!!

save up longer .... essentially twice as long as it took you to save up for a nickel, I mean a 1/4 oz. :)
