geez you scrapped the hell out of this coin. you might as well have used a brillo pad. yikes. scratches everywhere.
Actually a brass brush would not have scratched it like that. I was looking for one of those old ink eraser pencils that had a brush on one end.
Yeah, I over did it when I got into it. I would probably go lighter on the next trashed one. When I was a lot younger I had an eraser like you described. Maybe that would work.
Well, I put the coin in a small glass container...Put some Acetone in it...Very little, like a teaspoon full....Then a nice squirt of Brasso and a little bit of Penny Brite....Put some warm water in an shook it up...Waited a couple of hours and out it came....Rinsed it off, patted dry and Take a look at how it came out!!
I did put a mark on the reverse Tommy, hope you get to see it and keep it if you like....I tried cleaning it and it was a no-go..........What Ya Gonna Do!? Move on to the next one...
Thanks Kentucky , I think I will give that a try......I already screwed it up soaking it in chemicals so aint got nothing to lose now....
Hey Joe, mine looks better than that, lol! Seriously, post a pic after you wire brush it. Maybe there’s hope for it yet!
I got a Brass brush and did both sides... What do you guys think? Better or worse? ( Well....At least it's shiny now )
a polished turd......HAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAA!!!!!...That's funny!!! I like that!!! I mean, think about that for a second....Who in their right mind would spend all that time polishing a turd....I mean, really....Oh...UM...Yeah....I'm the one who did that huh?.........Umm....Well....Ok....I got to go....Wife's calling
