Sometimes sellers up the price when stock is low or if they want to keep a placeholder in order to replenish without ending the listing. Another possibility is that eBay has a quirk in their sold listings. When you check sold prices of a multiple item listing that has ended, you will see the last price used. So a seller can sell 100 items at 39.99, up the price to 79.99, end the listing, and you’ll see 79.99 when you look at sold listings (although if you click on the item, you can see the detail and will realize no items sold for the higher price).
But will the price go lower ?? still high to invest in, from a bullion point of view But since there not making anymore the price will bottom out and then start to rise.
Will they be putting out 2018 versions of these? Edit: just did a search and found this thread by a new member that links to a story that says they are looking into doing this again...
It’s still unclear at this point, but I’m sure we will hear about it fairly soon if they do decide to make a 2018.
If they were going to do a 2018, it would have been out by now, all the people I have talked to dealers and such says it was only a one time deal.
At the World Money Fair in Berlin earlier this year, the South African Mint announced a 2 oz gold Krugerrand to be issued in 2018. There were rumors about doing the silver piece again (just without the "50" privy mark), but no official confirmation so far. Wait until June ... Christian
Grrrr. Used some points I had to buy some eBay gift cards to buy a Krug, then found out that you can't use GCs to buy stuff like this (bullion?).
Rumor has it that the final mintage numbers on these is 650,000. Well below the 1 million cap they had in place.
Would not really surprise me. The Krugerrand (gold coin) is basically a bullion piece that most customers would not pay a hefty surcharge for. So why do that for "some" silver variety ... But as far as I know, the mint's business year 2017 ends on March 31, so maybe they can sell a few more. Christian
Have a few 1 OZ Krugerrand,s it,s one of my favorites but the only thing different About them is the year, but some are for sure rarer then others, so they do have A certain collector value and following, like the Queens beast series as well, there a little more exciting as the images change from year to year.
My mistake, its actually 630,000. This is what is being claimed by LPM. https://www.lpm.hk/2017-1-oz-south-africa-krugerrand-999-silver-coin-bu.html
I bought SP70 and a few others from MCM coin. They minted 1,000,000 silver bullion Krugerands. I believe they are very available from different dealers.
The Krugerrand is a basic bullion coin and the design is always the same, however The dates are not, several have very low mintage so, there are many collectors Out there seeking those specific years, heres my 2017 with privy
Beautiful coin, I collect 4 of each in silver so far, but the gold is a little out of my reach. Personally I love the QUEENS BEAST COINS, They look so much better than eagles.
