Usually flea Markets are for deals and cheap sales but this past Sunday I saw the largest single cash sale I have ever seen. The dealer I set up with brought to the market a complete set of Mexican gold coins. I never imagined he would find a buyer there.

But mid morning a dealer who buys and sells Mexican coins as well as Gold and Silver Bullion came over and looked at the set. And he bought it. $3,050.00 Cash. I guess you never know.

    WOW!!!

I'm sure the set must have been one of the dealer's highlight. I'm more impressed that the dealer let you take these photos. I seriously would like to know how to manufacture such acrylic sets. Got plenty of ideas.

Whoever owns it right now is a proud owner of an amazing gold set.

    Thanks for sharing!

Not sure buying Gold at a Flea market is the best idea, i would be somewhat
hesitant, especially with all the fakes floating around out there :(

Have a family friend that seemed to always get diamond rings for a couple dollars at the flee market Before they went mostly commercial.
He would head over to the back rows where the junk was and go thru the private party sellers tables.

The coins are 100% Authentic and both the Seller and Buyer are established dealers. The seller is a good friend of mine and has no issues with me taking pictures of any of his coins.

This is simply a Capital Plastic Holder...the coins are not set in Acrylic.

Seems like a fair cash deal since both parties were happy with the transaction.
What are the melt values of these coins?
How much profit can be made, individually or as a set?

I hope he was qualified enough to inspect and authenticate his purchase beyond
any doubt, that,s allot of money to throw out there especially since you will more then likely not see the guy a again, very scary :(

Pesos are just as easy to tell if they’re real or not as pre 33 gold. Pretty easy.

Then why buy at a flea market in the first place..LOL
Like many swap meets these days everything is so commercialized
You can just go to there store front and get the same deal, swap
Meet doesnt always mean good deal.

Not everything at flea markets is junk.

That's a handsome set, and a pretty good chunk of bullion.

Might be a fun way of spanning the gap between "stacking" and "collecting".

Yes they were real. And both of these dealers sell at the same market week after week so they are not strangers.

I think the buyer did well then.
Since his investment is covered over 90% by spot.
I wonder if he already has a client in mind to sell the set,
or if he is going to piece them out.
    It's a beautiful set.

Were any of the coins better dates, or just restrike dates like 1959 $20, or 1947 $50?
