Here's the real Victoria, modeling her "living scarf" (aka Flash the Cat) yesterday. :)

There is, of course, a reason that all the ones I've got pictures of are dated 1901.

Some British colonies didn't issue coins in 1901, so the Victoria Hope Collection lacked coins from places like Jersey, among others. I like those big twelfth-shillings. That one would've been a good play when we recently did the "fractional denominations" theme the other day.

Here's a Vickie from my old Holey collection.

Not grubby, but rather ... um... ventilated. ;)

It was once on the top hat you see in my avatar.

    Must have been a rough job being a monarch back in those days. 1870 Cey 1 c obv.JPG 1870 Cey 1 c rev.JPG 1870 Cey 1-2 c obv.JPG 1870 Cey 1-2 c rev.JPG

And one of my favorites. These "Empress" issues have a Neck-line not a Bust-line. which I find most interesting. It is good to see all the different issues to compare with. Thank to all who post. Such a wide variety.

She has quite a pronounced nose bump, not seen as must in other issues.

Well, there is a hole in that coin for sure. Could have been a slag inclusion in the planchet, or other impurity much different from the bronze or copper. The rest of it looks beautiful! Below is another Victoria, from the other side of the world. Looks like she also has a bit of a bump on the nose. 1889 SS 20 c obv.JPG 1889 SS 20 c rev.JPG
