View attachment 724942 View attachment 724943 Found this Ike at an auction in my area that was being passed over very few and low bids. Most interest there was in Morgans and Barber Halves. Unique toning with a metallic sheen of gold and lilac. I have a complete set of Ikes and all the varieties in MS-63 or better. But his piece to me was well worth 46 bucks. I am not the greatest photographer .

I would have bought it for the toning even if were a lower grade and a common date. I was surprised at what the bid ended at.

While it is attractive, I don't see what's unique about it? It looks to be typical Dansco toning. This isn't to knock the coin - I think it is attractive, and definitely worth buying. It just doesn't seem as "unique" as you describe it.

That's pretty. Ikes don't normally jazz me all that much, but I like that one.

Baseball 21--I have seen such negative comments many times not only in numismatics but in other endeavors. As having a doctorate in psychology and 30 years practice it is not uncommon. I am retired now. Usually, it stems from being unhappy in some form or another either consciously or subliminally. When working with individuals like this in addition to getting to the root cause of the issue we encourage if you cannot say anything positive then say nothing.

By the way what is your favorite team?

physics-fan3.14's comment was the honest truth. Call it negative if you wish but I don't see it that way. As cool as the coin is, it's not unique.
It would be great to see more images of the coin.

Haha, thanks for the free psychoanalysis, doc! Good to know I've got all these repressed feelings!

Maybe that's why I drink scotch and buy coins? I'm trying to fill the empty void in my life? Wow, who knew coin forums could get so deep!
