What does that mean? It does not require an even number of participants.

Well, you said it twice this year. Was that so that you don't need to say it next year? :)

I kinda like those involved putting their 'wants 'or 'dream' lists out there. This way we have a better chance of getting something they actually want or need and if you can't afford it, at least an idea of what they like.

I am totally against this idea. People should be grateful for what they are given. I'm not sure I even like the idea of knowing the CT username of the person you are sending to.

I'm at a loss. Salad dressing or hair dressing? Either way, I feel I must recluse myself. If only for the sad situation that I might pour hair dressing on my salad.

I’m pretty sure that it’s sunless tanning spray. The sort of thing that would give someone that Cheeto sort of look. You know like the (would be edited by a moderator).

I’m cooking something up for you, I don’t want anyone left out. The late entry was the problem, we don’t need an even number to match everyone.

Really the only problem with that is

'#2 Please use $15 as the target gift value (If you want to go higher, that is up to you)'

Now while many of us do choose to go above I'd hate for someone like a YN to get matched with someone whose 'wants' are perhaps greater than their means. Plus there's probably always the possibility for someone to end up being upset that whatever gift they receive doesn't meet their listed expectations.

I can only recall one year where something like this occurred but imo it's best avoided by making the secret of the swap itself the gist of the exchange.

I thought the gist was to have fun and share the gift of numismatics.

I have participated in this exchange every year except last year since we started. I have not been fortunate enough to get something way over the top like some, but I have always enjoyed the giving part most anyway.

The gifts I have received have been fun and perfectly selected. They were sent in the spirit of the holiday and have become personal treasures.

The exchange has taught me how to be humble and grateful. Maybe others will do the same.

Thought that part was inherent in the nature of the exchange itself. And you should have been a participant last year even if you didn't send a gift out ;). I just don't think people should be creating want lists as the poster I responded too stated he liked the idea of and of which I've seen more 'I want type posts' besides the joke ones than ever before this year. Imo you stated it pretty well

The gift received should be accepted in the spirit it was given not by how much it cost or by what expectations someone entering the exchange has or by what their want list dictates they'd like.
