I'm beginning a type 7070 set too! (Although I don't have the album yet) I collect ancients and moderns and world coins! I love them all! Why side over one type or series when you can collect them all! Best of luck with your collecting endeavors and choice/s. Thanks, Jacob
Reveal... My first PCGS Barber... I will take time to pick out the dime and the half to complete the types, and have fun learning more about these. This may just about be the best I can afford in these, but I think it will help me really appreciate them more having this.
I felt it was strong money price for it but will be one that holds value. Unless the market for this tanks, I don't see me having much, if any loss in the future.
Constantine the Great, AD 307-337. The first emperor to legalize Christianity and support the Christian church. He presided over the conference that came up with "the Nicaean Creed". This coin has Jupiter standing holding Victory on a globe crowning him with a wreath, an eagle holding a wreath in its beak at his feet left • SIS• in exergue, for the Siscia mint, B in field (for 2 in Greek) IOVI CONSERVATORI around (Jupiter conserves, protects) Interesting because this type was issued after he converted to Christianity (there is a good reason, but you'd have to learn why). Cost, about $35. Do you feel you don't know enough to appreciate the interest of the type or its history? Do you feel you don't know enough about price to know if that is a good price? Well, the OP wrote: Obviously, there is far more to learn about ancients than about capped bust halves, but if enjoyable learning is part of the goal, you can buy a lot of ancient coins which provoke a lot a learning at less cost than most US series in "fairly high quality." Explore the ancient coins topics (including ones posted on older pages) https://www.cointalk.com/forums/ancients/ for a while and see what you think.
Just post on the ancients forum if you ever need anything, from a "is this a good price?" To the occasional "is this real?". Thanks, Jacob

Resist the temptation, dear Lady, for they'll just lead you down the path of temptation..........temptation........that's really what the Hobby is all about.
