Someone should create a new thread called "Chatting" or "Meandering Thiughts" so that people can chat about anything non coin/PMs.
Silver in the $16.80s. I'm already losing money, especially with the premiums on the poured silver I bought. Yay! LOL I'm hoping it will go down to $15 or $14 eventually so I can hunt more poured bars, especially rare vintage ones that command high premiums. Cant help it, its the collector in me. Silver, like coins, is a hobby. If it ever makes me money when its time to sell once am an old man heading for a retirement community (or if I'm ever in a huge financial pinch), great! If not, well, that's what a retirement account is for. Got to collect those goodies so I can fill my pirate treasure box. Gotta get me some swag for me treasure....arg! Shiver me timbers matey!
Honestly, I do get your point, and there is no question about your being entirely correct on procedural grounds. That being said, I think it's rather nice and provides a valuable and important service to us that we all get at least a bit of an opportunity to get to know each other somewhat better and thereby hopefully get beyond the border of merely acting as an aggregate of dedicated but anonymous collectors of always interesting , certainly attractive and occasionally priceless metallic (and other) objects.
As would more than a few others, trust me. Sometimes, every now and then, folks that appear to have what could all too easily be thought of as a broomstick permanently lodged where the sun don't sun come off as a tad overbearing and just a wee bit beyond tedious in their tendency to whine.
There is definitely something to be said for good old fashioned physical working for a living as opposed to endlessly shuffling papers around a desk while making money off other people's hard earnest labor. Just sayin'.
Alright, I'm up for that and ready to go. Updated Silver Price: 16.96 spot We are off to the races! P.S. Case closed.
Silver's up again....God bless volatility. As someone who never watched the daily silver price too closely before, its fun seeing the wild hourly price swings.
Looks like a fun roller coaster ride. And like all roller coasters you end up back where you started.
Some people go bizerk over the price swings for some reason and try to tell us to stop looking at it so much. But it's fun. It's not like I'm ETF'ing Silver. I have a small stash of mostly ASEs for my "silver" and AGEs but I don't worry about it from day to day. It's just fun watching the swings and then sometimes checking why it had a large swing like it did. It's been a lot of political play for months though.
If he were alive today, probably speaking out against the new Bitcoin Gold currency, and pushing for a Bitcoin Silver currency instead. Seriously though, Bitcoin Gold is a reality as of yesterday. We are about a week away from a flood of youtube videos of digital precious metals stackers showing us their digital gold stacks.
