Fred I totally agree with you I don't see a fracture either..
I'm just saying not all cracks produce raised metal.

I just looked at it from a different perspective. I would say it's a chip.

paddyman98 Rick gave me the okay to show my perspective. This is the same photo but with a ZEKE filter. It looks like a chip to me. upload_2017-11-9_8-43-58 (2).jpeg upload_2017-11-9_8-43-58 (3).jpeg

Yes, it looks like a die chip now.

My comments were based on the initial
set of 'greenish' photos, where it did not
    appear to be raised whatsoever.

    This scope is funny .
It will only take copper color images in very low surrounding light ..

I'm sorry.. But I'm still not seeing it :(
Your saying that the dark area in between the B and the E is raised?

    Sorry Rick. I can't make a decision.

Rick I cannot see what you have in hand but from the images it looks like a stain in between the B and E the stain looks like it affects the E in liberty but you can still see the machine doubling on the left side of the E so in my opinion its a stain. I am sharing a 1999 BIE that I found in the past. 1999bie1.jpg 1999bie2.jpg
