Even an imbecile knows that you don't lose or gain $$$ until you sell.
    So...your point???

While this is technically true, I think most of us would be pretty confident in saying that someone who paid (say) $50/oz today for generic silver has "wasted money", whether they've sold yet or not.

Oh, puh-lease. Don't attempt to justify your childish impulses. Anyone with half a brain would have avoided buying in September.

I am sure you speak from your own experiences, but I just don't think it's necessary for you to insult people that May have purchased silver at a higher price. It happens every time spot price drops, even a little. Silver is bought and sold regardless of spot usually.

A loss on paper is just that, if you hold on to something long enough that
Loss may turn in to a profit :)

He's talking about a savings on purchase. No matter how you spin it, if I bought at 17.05 and he waited two weeks and bought at 16.60 today he realizes the savings immediately. Has nothing to do with profit at this point. I never plan on dumping my silver so I'll never realize a profit, but I can definitely realize a savings by smart purchases. The thing is we're all such tiny fish that a 40-50 cent drop in price per ounce is really nothing to worry about, my fat ass will just go without a pint of ice cream tonight and the savings from not eating the ice cream will make up for being inpatient.

Hey, hey, now, nobody told me that buying silver at the wrong time was going to cost me ice cream...

That is actually quite useful to deprive yourself of one frivolous expense in order to balance out against another expense. More people should do this!

Two tubes of 2017 ASE's. I held back from any bullion purchases for awhile, gave in to my silver craving today at a coin show. Paid $2.70 over spot per oz. Not a great deal but I'll take it.

19th century Spanish 5 peseta coins, German marks . . . mid-grades. Half a dozen barber halves, mostly old hub, full Lib. Cheap. Chased Mexican 10 peso coins from late 50's all week and got nowhere.

Took advantage of a quick sharp dip in the price today to grab one of each of these skull types from Monarch Precious Metals.

Not exactly an investment bar, but these specialty rounds are usually low mintage and don't last long, so you never know if it will be worth a premium 20 years down the line.

Either way, they sure look cool. With these, that's 17 ounces of Monarch Silver I bought for this month. I'll try to add another 10-20 next month...maybe a few poured bars, though I'd probably do some more of the current lineup of their specialty poured silver instead if they are still available.

And I threw in one regular 1 ounce poured bar to go over $100 and get free shipping.

I know.. I know more Scottsdale. I wasn't planning on buying anymore this year.

Out of nowhere Scottsdale Silver EBAY page was selling these for $178.60 each.
So I grab as much as I could.
