Shouldn't Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands at least get an honorable mention? Thanks for the congratulations and for keeping this thread on track. Now I have one more wonderful individual to consider following on here so I don't miss any must read posts

If at first you don't succeed (to do something you never were ACTUALLY doing to begin with) try try again (and again, and again...).

Longnine009 and silversiren, enough! You haven't violated any forum rules yet, just those of respect of others, but you have trampled over a thread not initiated by either of you, but others who are interested in that. Facebook and twitter are better forums for both of you at this point. So stop please ( see I was nice)...this time. Jim

I wonder why SA Mint never bothered to include Palladium in the mix? The Pt Krugs must be lonely.

Hey I can dream, right? :p

Plus the price started at $59.99 at the beginning of the year, and we're already at $35. So I can still see additional downward movement.

The other point is that the seller from Germany must be paying some ebay fees and shipping charges to mail the coin. Let's say they have some deal where the ebay fee is $3 and shipping to the US is another $3 using some really inexpensive option; that means they are getting $35-$3-$3 = $29. Either these companies are all taking big losses or they received a really favorable deal from the mint. Then they sold a bunch at $59.99, profiting handsomely. And now they are just clearing out inventory and may keep discounting prices until all stock is sold.

It was free shipping yesterday; they changed it earlier today. It might have been an error or just a one day deal.

I don't think these will get to spot simply because of the novelty of them. But I am glad I didn't fall for $100 plus.

Of course, if South Africa decides to issue them annually, that could easily change.

I also don't think these will get to spot (of course your local coin store might only offer spot, but they may do that with a number of other items as well).

However, I do think $23-$27 is possible. At today's spot of $16.73, that is still $6-$10 over spot, which would be a reasonable premium for a coin with a mintage of 1 million.

I agree. The mintage is very high for a "special" issue. They're a cool coin and all but in reality they're pretty far down the pecking chain in terms of popularity. 2018 stuff is coming out and hitting the market now too so lots of places will probably just want to move what they have of them and move on. Mintages need to be much much much lower to hold strong premiums as a special issue

    I hope I'm right too :p
I do actually want at least one for my collection. I'm just taking a patient approach and waiting this out (based on prior experiences of overpaying by buying too early).

How much were these when they first came out?

    $60 for the non-graded ones
    I believe the SP 70 was $129

    Ok, thanks.

So the current price of "$46.99" @ Provident Metals is a good price? Glad I waited. Are they cheaper elsewhere? Anyone?

Edit: I see $44.95 @ JMBullion, but I'm ordering from Provident anyway...

They have been as low as 35 on eBay.

I haven’t seen a sale in about a month, but I do expect prices at least in the $30-$35 range before year end as dealers try to offload extra stock.

You could probably get it cheaper in the future, but what means more to you the 10-20 bucks or having the coin for an extra year or two
