I was watching that Mike guy on Home Shopping Network one night a few weeks ago, and he was hawking a complete set of Indian Head cents from 1880 to 1909 (excluding the S varieties, of course) for $199.99 plus shipping. It had been a while since I had dabbled in coin collecting so I checked prices on the coins at eBay figuring that this might not be a bad deal. Then I checked buyer comments which, for the most part, said that the coins they received were worn far more than the ones Mike was showing on TV. I've already seen comments on this Mike guy here in other threads, please understand that my fascination with Mike is that he can tell so many lies in a single coin presentation, many of which contradict each other. He's worth watching for the laugh.

I started my own Indian Head collection the next day, and now have 38 of the 68 coins (excluding the S coins and the 1877, of course) in the 1859 - 2009 series. While the price I have had to pay for these coins is fast approaching the $200 for Mike's set of badly worn coins, I was lucky to find three eBay sellers whose coins far surpass your run-of-the-mill samples and exceeding my expectations so far. Clearly the older coins will be costing me more, but I am approaching this carefully.

I also surveyed my collection of Lincoln Wheat cents, and decided I should pursue the six coins I needed to complete the set — a 31-S, 24-D, 14-D, 11-S, 09-S and 09-S VDB. I've whittled those six down to three after paying fair prices for the 31-S, 24-D and 11-S coins... a bit less than $200 for the three. I don't think I'll buying the remaining three any time soon, unless I win the lottery.

Yeah I have seen that show for entertainment purposes only, I think most
Of what they sell are seconds in the un graded stuff, graded maybe a bit
Different but the prices seem a little high to me, but I think I would have to
Think twice about buying anything from him.

Just picked this up today, what a deal Engelhard bars always go for big
Premiums over spot even common ones such as this most are $230 plus
On the bay but i actually got this one at a generic price of $188.00 !
Was a little rough and tarnished, it was in it,s original packaging, which
The plastic was hard and the bar had sweated inside, so cut it out
Cleaned of with some Wright,s silver cream ( my go to cleaner and polish)
Here are some before and after pics, i think the salesman was a sleep at
The switch, but good for me LOL.

Yeah, I now it's just bullion and it really
Doesn't matter if it's pretty or ugly
But the bar was sweating in its own skin
And it was marked up and tournished
The original plastics wrapping was becoming hard and a little discolored
So polished it up and now it looks like
A million bucks :) any takers at $900,000
    LOL :)

I believe that the 005680 is just the number of the Bar that someone submitted to AllEngelhard as pictured for reference.
    Same goes for 000389.
