First, before i go any further special thanks to fellow coin talk member @rte for giving me the heads up on This Pioneer Round Up Club 10 OZ Silver Bar, he actually posted
The 5 OZ version on another thread, so i went to eaby only to find one or two and they
Were both scratched up really bad :( then rte emailed me and told me he saw a 5 OZ
and 10 OZ at a pawn shop across from the Colorado bell but he didnt know the name
This was actually a few weeks back but had some time today and thought i would make
The drive about an hour and 45 minutes not to bad, was really excited though
But it was easy to find and what a gold mine !!! they have everything under the sun
Gold and Silver related, looked around awhile and i spotted my prize !

The name of the place is actually :

    Laughlin Jewelry and Collectibles
    2311 Casino Dr B-2
    Laughlin, Nevada 89028

    Ph# 702-298-5657

After a little negotiation with Bob the owner got a couple bucks off, still a great deal
Though, especially in this condition, he,s kind of a historian and has been in business
There since 1989 so i picked his brain on the history of the Pioneer Club and the issuance of there coins and bars.

According to Bob, the bars came first, approx issuance date or the first ones was circa
1986 the bars ended in or about 93 ( going by his memory here ) and could not be bought but had to be earned in the " Pioneer Round Up Club" it took 12,000 points
To equal 1 OZ of Silver ( and that,s allot of gambling !!)

Went on a couple web sites to try and find out additional info exact years plus approx
Mintages but am still digging, if anybody else has something to add would love to hear
    It :)

Here are some pics of the bar itself and the surrounding area including the
Pioneer club and surrounding area also took a pic of the front of the pawn shop
so you would know what to look for if in fact like i did went looking your self

Good Deal, that will save me some money on my next trip.:D
Did you not buy the 5 ounce bar too?
Bob had one of each last time I was in there.

For more information on those bars, head over to the www.silverstrikers.com site and look under
    Related Tokens Catalog,
    Nevada,
    Pioneer,
    2nd page.

I use the eZest coin dip....no polish.
Dip it and rinse it in hot water.
Damp dry on a Terry towel and store in zip lock bag.

Forgot to mention, that bar has the APM mint mark.
    (American Precious Metals)
    With the 10 in numbers.
There's also a variety with the TEN spelled out.
Just in case you need an excuse to add another :D
Then there is the silver nugget bar:wideyed:

I have seen a fine example of this very bar on ebay that I was thinking about
Getting, though kind of pricey well over 2x spot ! from an investment point
Of you probably would be kind of hard to get that premium back at least
If Silver stays at where it is now, any other casino silver bars floating around out there ? really liking the 1/2 OZ .999 $10 Casino Tokens, many from what I see
are priced at about only 15 % over spot or less but I am sure the tougher ones
would be more expensive, like anything else.

    Nice pictures, no bikinis?

    The silver strikes are cool.
Check that other site, there are a ton of variations $7,$10,$20,$40....
I like the $7 ones better as they are all silver.
The $10 strikes have the brass ring and ever some if those are CLAD:wideyed:.
I'll have to dig out the picture of some of the casino collection.
I've got a few choice pieces you don't see often.

Here are a couple of the pioneer bars,
Sadly, I THOUGHT I had a ten ounce bar with the 10 and one with the TEN.
Now that I'm all depressed  that you one upped me :p
I was SO sure I had one, that I passed on it at the shop in Laughlin. :banghead::banghead::banghead:
Seems I have 2 5 ouncers (one extra) and am missing the other variety of 10 ouncer.

Those are really awesome ! and I had no idea on the variations, thought
They were all the same, I am trying to get some exact information on them
Bob was able to provide some but there are some missing areas I would
Like to get a little more on any good sites for these from a info stand point
again thanks for your help :)

On one of our Laughlin trips, I brought a 5 ounce bar to the pioneer casino and asked questions....not one person at the casino knew what they were.
Everyone I asked said it must have been before their time.

I was on a fact finding mission there as well was really hoping they had a couple
Of examples in the gift shop, you would think they would be banking on there history as these are excellent nostalgia pieces i just wish more casinos had them,
Bob had a extensive collection 1/2 OZ $10 casino chips, will be picking up a couple of those on my next trip out.

Those $10 are cool,I have a couple dozen that actually came from playing the token slot machines at the various casinos.
I wish they would have made them solid silver.

I really dont understand that logic, i guess a 1/2 OZ is better then nothing
Making a solid .999 coin would have been better :)

The logic if you can call it that would have been, SLIGHT OF HAND.
It looks like a solid silver piece with 24k gold EP rim and most of the ones that I have are marked. 999 on the gold rim, Which it is NOT.

People called them on it, (me as well) and the result was hmm, it is what it is...you don't have to play for them!

Tell you what, i ,am really in to the casino stuff right now ! Silver City is on my radar
I pulled it up online and i remember exactly where it was, i see you have a 10 OZ example, how hard was that to locate ? tried the bay but no luck :(

Any advice on where to look ?

@mpcusa sorry it took me a while, here is a picture of mine. I know Bob and Mona. They are the loveliest people around. I rarely leave empty handed from there. I go about 3 to 4 times a year. I spend every Thanksgiving and Christmas there. (I use the holidays to get away from family) I love Laughlin dearly. Its our "go to" when we just want to get away for a few days. I Was there a few months back. I saw the bar your bought, and really wanted it, but me being me decided to gamble on finding one cheaper. I found one on ebay for 189.00 or so. I got lucky. I went back for 4th of July and the bar was still there.
