I got a '16 maple wolf privy reverse proof in the mail the other day and I just noticed something. Next to an ASE it's a bit smaller in diameter. If both are same content, fineness and thickness, why is that so? Edited to add- It wasn't from china and has the sweet "ting" to it.
Thank you so much for a useless response @Jason.A Google useless and see if your answer comes up. Edited to add- your first response. I set them side by side and they look to be the same thickness.
We aren't your google. The two coins do not have the same thickness. 30 seconds of googling "American Silver Eagle dimensions" and "Canadian Silver Maple Leaf dimensions" will tell you this. You would have known this had you tried to find the answer yourself before bothering other people. It's disrespectful of our time if you ask questions you are capable of easily answering yourself.
Wrong. That difference is too small to make a difference. In fact, most 9999 silver coins have dimensions different from each other (Britannias vs Maples vs Kangaroos, etc. are all different sizes despite all being 9999). It has to with different thicknesses creating different diameters, not purity. Simple, simple.
@Jason.A I'm sorry that I was insensitive to the value of your, and other CT forum members', time. I take for granted that many people have a filter and can distinguish, for themselves, what is worth responding to and what isn't. Think of all the time you've wasted reading and responding to this post after your initial "I'm too smart for this" post. You could have folded at least 4 paper cranes.
If there is a difference in thickness it would have to be shown with a micrometer because I'm not seeing the difference.
It's not wrong it's a fact. I stated a fact about purity for clarification since they aren't the same content nothing more.
I'm good bro. You've seen enough of how I react to inflated egos to know where I'm at. His ego was not his, nor my, amigo.
Since I don't know how to fold paper cranes, I choose to spend my time instructing others how to be better forum members.
So I took your advise before asking this and got nothing from google and just to be sure I was thorough, Siri. What certification or formal training is suggested before taking on such a burden for a forum? I mean you are effecting the perception of what is and is not an acceptable to post here. Were you approached for this position because of your vast experience before joining or was there a fast-track crash course you took after joining and seeing how lost we are without your commentary?
Huh?! Google it. And if it doesn't make sense, go back to junior high. (copy of your post...mildly edited)
