There's other threads about this. Someone one's order of 20k sets was cancelled apparently.

I cancelled my eBay order and ordered 2 sets from the Mint for about the same price. And subsequently the ebay prices have dropped tremendously.

    couple other threads about it

I know it bothers some people to have new threads, but thanks for making this one. I wasn't monitoring the other ones and was one of the people who missed out before.

I cancelled my order on eBay as well after I received a message from the Mint that they were again available.

    I actually couldn't cancel mine.
It was marked as "Shipped" right after I BIN'd it.
Though of course it wasn't Shipped .. only shipped from the Mint to the reseller.
Then the seller gave me grief to cancel it. As I couldn't cancel it .. I could select "return" or "Not received". Seller finally relented .. or repented ...

So that one cancelled purchase helped me pay for 2 from the Mint. :)

It finally happened...the Mint made a way for collectors to process orders without the big boys greed getting in the way. Seems the Mint set aside a substantial hoard of sets and then released them after the dealer hype settled down. Rhett Jepson gets an "A" for effort on these and I hope he follows thru in the future. Maybe the dealers will think twice in the future about cornering the market on new offerings.

You realize he resigned quite some time ago right?

I'd imagine the mint will probably have plenty of stock know that people have seen the coins are are cancelling orders.

Plus dealers may be cancelling orders if they can,
now that eBay BIN prices are under $40 .. lowest I've seen is $39.95

I hope that drives prices lower .. and maybe they'll think twice next time, though I doubt it.

Dealers at the ANA show were allowed to by up to 500 sets and were selling them for $37.95 each. Today the show was emptying out with lots of dealers heading out early. Such a shame for people that may only be able to make it on Saturday.

I saw one dealer with friends and kids in line bring 2,500 sets to his table...he was asking $50 for his sets. A bunch of sets were brought to the grading services for submission.

The crook on HSN is selling a "Denver FDOI" set for $349.95!!!!!?!??!?!?!

Looks like ANACS certified it that way on the slab.

    Shameful

That's not being a crook. Overpricing is different than stealing

I was thinking along the lines of fraud as opposed to stealing/theft.
