What government-issued bullion coin do you reject?

The govt bullion coin that I have rejected most often lately are the pandas.

I have some but usually the panda premiums are too high.

Ahh, if that's true, then I would consider them to be coins... or at least art medallions.

 

I would say more proof like, the finish is outstanding for the basic B/U coin

 

Pandas are actually a really cool coin, and certain designs and years are really
Rare but i do agree that from a investing stand point the premiums are not very
Reasonable

 

I think the Mexican Libertad is probably the most beautiful of the government issued bullion.

 

Yeah, there really cool, have this version in 1OZ Silver

 

and this 1/10 OZ Gold version

 

I was at a garage sale and they had a Libertad in a case. I offered $15 and they took it, later I realized it was a proof...beautiful coin!

Sure, I had to get one to go with my world monetized bullion collection. Just don't need/want another.

 

I tend to avoid maples or other Canadian bullion items because of the milk spotting issues. I like some of the designs, but the milk spotting tends to kill any collectible resale premiums, unless you get lucky and yours don't spot.

 

I have six tubes all different years from the RCM and not a single milk spot.

 

And you mean silver Maples. This does not happen to gold.

As attractive as Silver Maples are, this is further support for buying gold over silver: no spotting or tarnishing.
