What size gold to you buy? What coins or bars do you buy? I have started this topic because I am curious if people stack in full ounces or fractions. I am also curious if they stack by focusing on a single coin or buy various types. The bulk of my gold investment is held in 1 oz Maples (about 80% of my stack). It is supplemented by some 1/10 oz Maples and American and world gold pieces, all fractional.
Same here. I don't have enough disposable income for 1 oz AGEs. If I have an extra 1k its going to the mortgage and not my hobby.
I mainly stack with $2 1/2 coins Here are some more of the raw ones. About $362.50 face value When I'm feeling fancy I load them up in this tiffany and co holder
90% of it is a combination of 1/10 AGEs and pre-1930 European coins. I do have a few others, but mostly for the curiosity value.
Pre33 US coins, $2.50, $5 and $10 Gold Eagles, 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 Perth Lunar 1/10 and 1/4 I plan to sell most of this at some point and go to 1oz AGE. If you want a reason, go to youtube and look at the last 2 videos by belangp. They turned on a light for me...in a good way
Who is he? Does he provide credentials in any of his videos? If he's just some nobody offering his own lay views on economics I'll skip the videos.
I like to buy stuff with nice premiums I'll never get back....It doesn't matter if I buy a 1/2 ounce 2008 buffalo or a 1908 $20 gold coin, once it enters my "stack" I only value it at melt.
You need credentials to have good ideas and information? Good information can come from anywhere, if you're willing to listen and read.
Stack them up this way, first on my 1 OZ Gold use the 32MM (Air-tites) since the Focus is a little bit different then on my 1/10 Gold in which i have 16MM for, have allot more variety in those.
I like most between .10 and .25 of an ounce. Old world gold coins and modern bullion. Variety for me.
Good information can indeed come from anywhere. Unfortunately, there is so much hot-air promoting in the bullion business that one needs to be careful, IMO.
You got that right ! you have to use your own judgment, and do your own research Counting on others is a little fool hardy.
He's not in the bullion business...just a guy with some ideas and most of them are pretty solid in my opinion. I don't care if you watch them or not, was just passing along some info
