Hi Everyone, I saw this earlier today. https://bullionexchanges.com/2017-1-oz-tuvalu-spiderman-silver-coin-bu Design looks pretty cool so I went ahead & preordered one. I now the premium is a bit high but I wanted it lol
According to my point of view, is too ridiculous to place Spiderman and Queen Elizabeth on the one coin.
I tend to agree with Colton. It's a rather absurd piece of modern NCLT to me, made to cash in on American pop culture, like so much NCLT is. But to each his own. At least it's bullion. I wouldn't pay any premium over melt for it, personally (well, OK, maybe a buck or so), but if YOU like it, that's all that counts. I'm an old fuddy-duddy who prefers coins with some history. Doesn't make me right, though... or you wrong. Rock on, Spiderman!
Ah, but she already had to put up with Spiderman a few years ago. Niue 2013, for the 50th anniversary. Besides, QEII is on many coins and "coins" that have odd themes ... guess she deals with that quite stoically. Christian
Oh no. That's so ugly! I passed on the DC coins (Superman, Batman), because I've always been a Marvel guy. I was hopeful when I saw your link. His head looks alien shaped. It's way off. This is very ugly. Pass!
Several nice design,s in that series have ordered a few myself and some are below cost of ASE,S that i buy locally
Is the reverse side with Spiderman struck or printed? Is its struck, that's pretty impressive. If its printed, it just another gimmick.
I would imagine it's probably struck. That illustration is probably just a digital mockup, like the US Mint often uses. Edit- this appears to feature actual coin photographs, though the listing says it is a "PRESALE", so who knows. Interesting that his eyes seem to be outlined in black on those. Spiderman wears mascara!
the only problem I would have on this coin is the cost at two times spot price you would have a difficult time getting the premium back.
Ah... That coin looks stuck and looks nothing like the picture in the original post, which looks like a rendering.
Well they're minted in Australia so not much of a lesson!! [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In this case, yes (Perth Mint). But when it comes to "coins" "from" countries and territories such as Niue, Tuvalu, Palau, or Congo, Liberia, etc., you get a wild mix of mints, designers, numismatic agencies and so on ... with hardly any connection to the issuing authority. Christian
I received the coin today. Here is a picture! I think it looks good!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I held the coin last weekend at my LCS. $30 there. They'd probably match any price I can find online. Didn't bite due to the price and design of Spidey I don't like. I did buy a tube of Darth Vaders though and they are awesome!
I saw the Darth Vader coins at a coin show. Didn't really like them too much. Just goes to show. To each their own!! [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
