Rhodium would have been a sweet buy in 2003 at $250 - $300 per oz. I almost bought 10oz b/c I wanted a bar of something more valuable than silver, but not out of my reach at the time like gold and platinum. Not know much about platinums cousins, I found Rhodium. Sadly I never got around to the purchase. July 06 Rhodium peaked at $7500 per oz. Sigh.....coulda woulda shoulda...and life goes on. Out of curiosity (and google laziness) anyone ever heard of a coin being struck in Rhodium?
Only a couple of trial coins have been struck. It's primarily used in coating silver coins and jewelry. Rhodium is highly resistant to corrosion and acids. It can be used as a reflector for light (mirrors,ect..) and will last an extremely long time, due to it's resistances. I've seen that it has also been used on small moving parts on rovers and such, in the space program.
gold close high gold close high and it said that the base will be $700.00 now. let's see...... new york gold hit a high of $714.90 per ounce.
I dont know much about silver demand, but I do know that if there are a lot of short positions and something happens in the market to raise the price and short sellers fear a break from the trading range, then they will buy to close out their futures positions which will raise the price even more.
gold continue to climb gold expected to hit between $730.00 to $760.00 soon. if oil hit $85.00 a barrel. gold also predicted to go beyond $800.00 this year. silver should follow also.
I saw that oil topped $80 today at one point not sure if closed above or not and the last I saw gold was $720. Silver is just plodding along.
news just watch bloomberg and cnbc at cable t.v. for queens, new york city. check channel 15, 104 & 139
Yes, but it is an educated guess. If oil goes up, consumer confidence goes down. If consumer confidence goes down, they take money out of tricky stocks. They then buy blue-chip stocks and precious metals. Just trends. I suspect this will happen, then the Fed will lower interest rates to calm the sheep.
gold higher again currrent high $718.20. no wonder the mint change the prices for am eagle unc series. soon the proof version too.
Same here. The whole tenth of an ounce of gold I own won't be turning me much of a profit any time soon.
Good point. This is largely due to the advent of digital photography, which has greatly reduced the demand for silver salts used in film.
