I think so - or at least Constantine would most likely have wanted it to be remembered by the people. By 330, when the coin was struck, Constantinople was flourishing as Constantine's 'Nova Roma', so his conquest/liberation (wherever you stand on that one) of the old Rome would have been a highly symbolic event.
