Prepping threads have no place in a bullion forum

Honestly, I can see prepping and stacking going hand in hand. I mean, why else stack (or collect, or buy) bullion, other than to build wealth? Why are you building wealth in this way? Because you think it will be more valuable one day, or think it is good to have on hand. Prepping is no different. Speaking of, I need to prep some more ammo :)

You can ask many people on the Bullion investing forum what happens when they venture into the political aspect, whether they are on one side or the other.

I do not think there is significant difference between collecting bullion as an "investment" only and those who do it as a possible investment in the future. All investment is done for survival or enhanced finance, and right now, the stock market would be a much much better investment. Each side will jump up and say never, so both sides are wrong if for investment. Some like the imagery of tokens as investment ( greater fool theory perhaps), others like the self-satisfaction that they can shoot up the neighborhood or buy out the gangs for their survival. If the other side irritates one too much by their posting, then post more of your side if it makes you feel better. I see little difference between the two sides really. And until the bosses decide enough is enough, both are allowed to post. Jim

Ya' gotta admit - people who are the "comic relief" on CT who don't realize they're the comic relief make for a funny, funny bit. You know, like preppers.

The way I see it, bullion is bullion. It has no numismatic value. If an item does have such value then it is no longer bullion as it is a collectible object and belongs in the field of numismatics.

So if there is a bullion subforum its only purpose could be to discuss the reasons for buying it. Investing in bullion is foolhardy as its future is totally unpredictable: unless an event happens for which prepping is an appropriate activity. So those who don't see anything major happening in the near future (20 years) should not be collecting bullion and should not be reading the bullion forum. If they are then their only reason for doing so must be to try to antagonize those who do.

Preppers believe in Constitutional silver, why would anyone expect paper dollars to hold value in a crisis?

Because there will never be a crisis... duhhhh. There is absolutely no possibility of a world war, civil war, drought, famine, EMP burst...ect. Oh, and that zombie apocalypse, that is way too inconvenient-- zombie doctors won't take medicare.

What's so comical about these people is that they are just the mirror reverse of stackers. It's nothing more than negative vs positive. There is nothing that's makes either one right and the other wrong. Either is right at the right time. Which makes it all a game of perceiving the future. Which makes most everything posted in here, including this post, opinion.

But, here they are again pretending to be Marcus Welby knows best.

Really? "absolutely no possibility of a world war, civil war, drought, famine, EMP burst...ect." ?Says who? How about a CME? According to the .gov's own website "Extreme space weather could potentially cause damage to critical infrastructure – especially the electric grid – highlighting the importance of being prepared". If the grid went down, do you think the ATM's would work? How about your debit cards and credit cards? Or are you one of those that think the .gov will take care of you?

Interesting that they say that but they won't spend the relatively small amount required to harden the grid. It would only cost the equivalent of a few days of military budget.

Read the whole post. It was sarcasm. If you don't believe it was, just ask Kirt whose camp I'm in.

Our "military budget" is mostly used to prop up the petrodollar.
