A couple ounces of 80% Canadian silver

Looking at some Britannias or Queen's Beast, soon, though.

 

I'll admit that I often open threads from the list of "Recent Topics" (which doesn't identify the forum) and I rarely look at the top of the page of the thread which identifies the forum when I open it.

To be honest, I was about to enter my own post in which I would have stated that I have been selling some of my collections rather than buying new stuff, but then I saw your follow-up comment.

Given that your thread title asks about "collection/investment", I'd say that "the point" is not as well-defined as you may have intended. As @cpm9ball observed, a lot of us click through from the new-threads list.

 

Fair enough. I understand how someone could not realize the subforum this was posted in if they entered from a different page.

 

I never access posts through anything but the New Posts button and so rarely notice which subforum a post is in.

But to answer your question, I had two very pleasant transactions in the last month with a member here from whom I bought some Kangaroos (1/10 AU) and 5gm AU bars. I also got rid of some ASEs in exchange for Morgans with another member here.

I've been picking up 90% silver at or under spot whenever possible.

 

My additions are for a collection, two 5-ounce pucks and both of the proof ASEs.

Over the weekend I traded one hundred 40% Kennedy Halves for a 10 ounce silver bar and a roll of 90% dimes. I had to give an extra $20.00 to close the deal. Ended up getting 90% of melt for those halves.

 

I've added a 1939 Washington quarter, proof 66 with a CAC green sticker, to my collection.

To my investments, I opened a stock position in Union Pacific.

Keeping an eye on gold, but my target price for a possible addition is quite a bit lower than the current price. I think it stands an excellent shot at seeing that level.

 

I've added 6 ATBS and a french gold Napoleon.

 

Maybe it is time to open a position in AGQ, the double long silver ETF.

 

Bought five 1oz silver rounds a week or two ago when silver was 17-something, private-issue "9/11 commemoratives", in a fine wooden display box. 9/11 merchandise gives me hives, and boxes get in my way, but the set was way underpriced, so I held my nose and clicked it. I figured I could move the rounds near melt, and give the box to my daughter to be turned into something tasteful.

Found someone at the show last weekend who went $18 each for them (with silver at 16.20something). So, I guess that part of my "collection/investment" is back to FRNs -- but I'm happy with the return.

 

IMHO, I don't think PMs are done going down yet. There's always plenty of room to be totally wrong, but I think silver may fare far worse than gold.
