Went to the bank today. My favorite teller put a box of these away for me. After getting them home I had to go through a roll just to satisfy my curiosity, because I do not know which ones I have until I opened a roll. What I mean by that is I know what boxes to tell them to look for but I don't know which coins are in the box until I open it. In this first roll I notice a lot and chips and cracks. Small crack runs at the top of the head. The chips very. This one happens to be on the left arm. Haven't measured it may qualify for a major crack. Then I found there's a lot of the small chips around the sail on the sailboats. Now this is the first roll out of the box I have found over 15 of the roll have chips or cracks. Have not found any that other members have already posted. But it's still the first roll out of the whole box. I have a good feeling this is gonna be one of the pick the best and dump the rest. I will keep posting new fines as I come across them. Please enjoy the photos. USMC60 ct3-17-3.jpg

Let's add another nice one to this. Notice the chip on the sleeve, then we have another nice little chip behind the neck on the collar. And there is a little crack running up the arm from the elbow to the shoulder. Now down in the right sailboat you'll see a nice little chip which seems to be showing up on a lot of the sailboat coins that I have examined. Enjoy the photosThere are also hairline fractures on the hat of the soldier. ct3-18-2.jpg ct3-18-3.jpg ct3-18-4.jpg :blackalien:

So far I've gone through about half the box. I will say I put back a lot of defective coins in two circulation. Right now I am keeping some to eventually go back and pick the best out of the bunch. Now I would like to add another one to the list.We start with a nice little die break in the soldiers right leg. ct3-24-1.jpg
Now here is one with two small die chips on the right leg. ct3-24-2.jpg
I've only found a small percentage of these so far.Hopefully this will give you an idea of what to look for on this particular coin. USMC60

This is another addition. I have found that awful lot of these die chips at the sailboats at 4 o'clock. These die chips are going to take various shapes but I have found they've always occurred on the right sailboat inside the sale and the deck. Out of 2000 coins I would estimate a good 1500 of them have this die chip. Now these last two photos of the series you will notice the die chip on the inside sailboats on the top part of the sale.

These are not that plentiful especially the last photo. The last photo I will consider one out of 2000. Enjoy the photos:happy::happy::blackalien: ct3-29-1.jpg ct3-29-2.jpg ct3-29-3.jpg ct3-29-4.jpg ct3-29-5.jpg

Well out of a box of these quarters. This is concludes all I have found in the whole box.
I hope everyone enjoyed them, and if you come across some new ones please do not hesitate to post on this thread. I know I would like to see them and I'm sure the other members would like to see them.

Well when it comes to these hat cracks, this is what makes me a firm believer that small cracks lead in to chips. USMC60 ct5-7-4.jpg

Came across this nice big long chip along the top of the flag.
But I also like the single strike doubling in Fort. USMC60 ct5-17-2.jpg
