I'm not sure. Ever since I first saw one, it really appealed to me. I love the design and I like how there is no monetary amount on it. It's worth what gold is worth.

If you can't spell it, don't buy it.

The U.S Buffalo is best looking modern gold coin in my opinion. The reverse proof is absolutely stunning!

Yes, at least in the US.

    On average:
Krugerrand: you can buy for $15-$30 over spot....selling would get you from spot to 3% under spot

Buffalo: you can buy for $30-$50 over spot....selling would get you from spot to $15 over spot

Note: these are based on my observations and won't hold true at every dealer or place you buy/sell coins.. some dealers will always pay 5% under spot (try and avoid those), while other places will have better deals.

I don'y see how it's possible to have an uglier obverse than reverse on that one, but it does, haha. Who is that duck dynasty wanna be anyways?

Why don't you tell us what you think. Clearly you have something to add. I'm not saying he was a hero, although tens of thousands did, I just really like the coins.

What do you think that guy on the gold buffalo would say to the dudes that minted it? Same principle. It doesn't mean you can't enjoy a coin design.

So you're saying that liking Krugerrands means racism? Get a life bro. I wont lower myself to comment on that topic anymore.

Your comment was uncalled-for. I own a couple of Krugerrands - does it imply that I worship the guy or like what happened in SA in the last century?

So you don't collect any coins from the former British Empire? Or Belgium? Or few other European powers? The monarchs whose face adorns those coins did far worse than anything Kruger did.

@mpcusa Please ask the mods to correct the thread title, the name of the world's most famous gold coin should be spelled correctly ;-)

Do you agree with the sanctions we placed on South Africa because of Apartheid?

Great, discussing politics sure helps to close/remove this thread asap. At least then we won't need to worry about correct spelling anymore :)
